Sex my preflowers, please.

I suck at sexing. I finally got preflowers on these 2 plants. Please take a look and see what you think...

i believe the first one is a male and the second one is a female. i am new to this sexing thing , but im pretty sure that is waht you have, if not, someone else will correct me.

I think thata right. the "ball on a stalk" in the 1st looks male. Look w/ some magnification, you may see an 'x' shape over the apex of the budlet; that would be male. The long, thin ones are female. Dont rush it, give it another day and you will have more assurance in your own ability to sex em. cheers

Thanks y'all. I thought the same thing. I used a USB microscope to get these shots. If I see white pistils I know what's what, but haven't yet. These are from 7 week old plants.

I always grow outdoor and use fem seeds, or plant double and throw out the males later. These are my last two Ganesh Strawberry Diesel F2 seeds I started under some flouros in a closet. If I get a female I intend to clone a bunch from her for this year's OD grow. I may keep the male and stick him somewhere by himself for pollen.

When it comes to cloning and sexing from preflowers, I'm a noob.

What does that mean? I guess you mean when I see white pistils...

I didn't get any preflowers until I took out two blue (6500k) tubes and put in 2 reds (3000k)... not sure if that was necessary, but a week later I found these... maybe some red is neded 'cause until then I just run the blue, which makes stocky plants with short internodes.

Anyone else got an opinion on the pics?

in my limited experience, i would agree with what others have said. the first has that 'cock and ball' appearance of a male. love that analogy!

The "male" is super stocky; hate to cull him on vigor and structure alone. Don't really need the seeds as I have several packs of the Ix StrwD from Ganesh. These 2 plants reek my closet up so bad I had to put in a scrubber. Unreal.

So...? Howd it turn out? Im vegging under flouro tubes and am running both of those spectrum bulbs simultaneously. Seems to be working. In my own grow the male showed 1st; a couple of days before any females showed. cheers

I chucked the Strawberry Diesel F2 I thought was a male:

I swapped 2 6500k to 3000k and got confirmation on the other Strawberry Diesel F2 within a week. It a girl!

Also had some reg csg grandoggy purps with no preflowers at all at 7 weeks show fem after the red was added as well:

So all is well and I learned something.

Not really. Just gathering mothers for cloning, then I grow OD. Maybe later in the year after plants are in the ground I may post some pics in the OD forum. Thanks for reading.
