Severe burning on outer leaf edges!?!?

I suppose I can get pics put up later, but not really necessary.

I am getting pretty bad burning on the edges of my leafs, and as they get older, the burns become more rust color and more crispy.

The plants weren't really showing signs of any N toxictiy, and I am not really giving them too much K. I am really confused here

I am feeding them Age Old grow 12-6-6 @ 1.5 tsp per gallon and 5ml Cal-Mag

does this sound like a deficiency or a toxicity?

thanks

No experience with the nutes your using, but when I grew out some Cali Mist a few years back, I had similar problems, but I was using FNB - Lucas formula. The problem persisted into flower and the buds were rather crisp and harsh. It was the only strain I've had issues with to date. Never did figure it out - good luck.

MD, pics will really help with this one. You say rust colored... I think Mg. You say leaf fringes burning... I think K. There could be pH issues, lockout, or even simple deficiency. Temps & watering may be contributing factors. Too much to guess on right now... pics please. Best brah!

Is this a familiar strain? Age Old has a fairly low amount of Magnesium in it. It is also a tad bit low in K.

here is the first few pics of a healthy rooted clone that's a week old. Then the progression of what starts to happen around the edges of the leafs. Then what a typical 10" plant looks like

Here is a Super Silver Haze. Notice how leaves start to burn at the tips starting at the bottom and creeps it's way up the plant. The new growth is nice and happy

first 2 are Golden Goat. Second 2 are a flowering plant that shows a lot of the same, except much more yellow in the leaves around the budsites.

I have tried to fix this problem a few times and I can't seem to diagnose it right. I have used this formula for a little while and for some reason it's just not working out recently. The plants are in coco.

At first I thought it was underwatering since coco releases K when the coco gets dry. So I increased my waterings and the problem seemed to just get worse. The ph of the coco is 6, and I water with a ph of 5.8.

I cant figure this out and its driving me crazy

hmm...

hmm...

I'm not a co-co person, but that looks like a burn from too much cal mag. Magnesium will affect the outter edges of the oldest leaves first and work it's way up. I'd back off on it and use it every other feeding, and see if it helps. This particular strain may not like as much of it as other strains yuv ran before, and that could be why yer having trouble this time. (?)

Let us know what ya do, so others may learn from it too. Good luck! BC

I've had same prob since using cal/mag but never guessed that was the cause. Good luck MrDank, and let us know how it works out.
