Hey ICers, I am knew to ID growing so this is the scope my room is 10 x 10 x10 with a 4 x 4 x 10 closet. I want to seperate the room and make room for a clone/seedling setup, a veg/mother room or if i can mix the two and a flowering room looking to be able to flower out 32 @ a time soil/pots is the method.what is the best light wattage for clone/seedling room aswell as veg? For flowering i'd like to go with 2 1000 watt cooled hps (what's the best brand?) S-M-E-L-L is of the utmost concern so I need a set for that. Well...you're goign to need 4k hps in the 10 by 10 room if you don't want to grow sog...
20 watts per square foot isn't enough to penetrate to lower buds...taking that into consideration... i say you should do a perpetual sog...or perpetual beasts with the 4k......start with a semi empty room..a few beasts and as you get mroe strains or veg more clones out to be pretty big move those in... bit by biot... and eventually yuour room will be filled, you'll be chopping down a few plants every once ina while... or you can go with sog... i.. say...atleast 3k on movers... perpetual of course with a room that huge

My room is about what you described. Vertical is arranging everything that way instead of horizontally on shelves and usually using vertical lights. If you have a local mentor to help out get you set up it's an option - but not one I'd recommend to a new grower or one on a budget with limited time. We usually get into this to save money and grow our smoke so we know what we are smoking and don't have to mess with the dealer rapists. 
I use the closet to flower and, being a closet heat and smell are concerns as well as overloading house circuits. For those reasons and with the great deals that can be had on eBay I went with two 400s in the flower closet because I can have those and the ventilation on the same circuit and it's like adding 8 lamps to your bill - not very noticeable.
I use the closet to flower with the two 400s, and converted security lights for vegging in the main room (my garden laboratory ). They are 3 light arranged on the hanger (two 100 MH and one 150 HPS). For the cloner cabinet I use a simple bookcase cabinet with an 18w floro and for the sprouts I use another cabinet with a 75w HPS conversion.
The sprouts and vegging are in the main room and the flower closet is seperated so photoperiods can be different. My strain takes 12/12 at all times, whether I'm sprouting, vegging or flowering - but with your flower room inthe closet you can have different lighting schemes going at once.
I'm a DIY guy and a cheap SOB - an average working guy with a below average salary - and low budget high quality stealth is my style.
If you just hit the lotto and can go out and buy everything at once and set it up, get the best you can afford I guess. If, like me, your expenses have to be justified and food still put on the table, I do what I can with what I have and gradually build on that.

Well, with that size, you'll need more lights, ventilation and stink control. I personally love my Can 50 filters for stink. With the vortex inline fan it also provides a means of ventilation. You'll need some other fans for cooling your lights.
I would start small 2-1000 watters and build it to your final size. That way you put out less money over time and get the fine details as you go. Good luck

don't they behead people in egypt for this kind of thing? i'd run ozone and carbon filter, and maybe ONA too. start small for your first time, maybe a 400 or a single 1k light till you get the hang of things.
