Seriously red stems and drooping

Green Smoke

Two of six plants have become increasingly droopy with red stalks and stems. These guys are looking sicker every day while the others are pretty much fine. No brown tips, the edges are greener than the rest of the leaf with veins darkest of all. Sorry for not having pics, my dinosaur camera won't work with vista. Please help if you can. I'm guessing a ph lock out, but I'm interested in what say you all. Tap water is above 7.2, but drops to 6.5-6.8 after mixing with GH Flora Nova Grow. I never give them staight water, but I am flushing with it today.

How long has this problem been going on? Increasing over the last week
What STRAIN are you growing? Bagseed (big help huh?)
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) Clone
What is the age of your plants? ~ 3 weeks
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? ~ 3 weeks
How Tall are the plants? 11"
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Very early flower
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) SOG
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 12oz juice bottles
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) 50% compost, 25% perlite, 25% peat moss. All from Wal-Mart
What Nutrient's are you using? GH Flora Nova Grow
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? 1 tsp per gallon
How often are you feeding? Dunking every other day. They dry out pretty quick.
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? Haven't yet
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) N/A
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? ~ 6.5- 7.0
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? Fish tank dropper kit
How often are you watering? Dunking every other day.
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? Today
What size bulb are you using? 8 23w cfl's in 1.1sf
What is the distance to the canopy? 6"
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 40-50%
What is the canopy temperature? 85 on, 78 off
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) 85 on, 78 off
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) Unknown, but adaquete, air be a rushing 24/7
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? 2 80mm cpu fans stir things inside, 1 4" fan lifted from an old desk top air cleaner for exaust. Intake is 12si, exaust is 12.56si
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? 1 cpu is
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? Wet after dunking, moist the next day, and nearly dry just before next dunking.
Is your water HARD or SOFT? More hard than soft
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? Tap
Are you using water from a water softener? No
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? No
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? No
Are plant's infected with pest's? No

Yo man sounds like nitrogen def. The stems get a red color when its starting to get a lil severe. So feed them bettys. Unless you cant correct it quickly you might lose a chunk of you plant. hope for the best for yah.

When I hear red stems I think P def...

From what you said about the leaf appearance I'd think it's due to a mag def...

Seeing you're using fifty percent compost and feeding them I'd think it's a burn and/or a nutrient lockout due to pH.

PS You may want to start feeding them a bloom nute

PH is too high. You need to bring down the ph of your nute solution gradually to 5.9 or so to get your soil ph down.

Pics would help if there are multiple issues here...not sure what vista has to do with posting pix...

After flushing yesterday, there has been no noticable change either way. The plan for now is to let the soil dry out as much as I dare before trying some light nutes. Any opinions?

sounds like overwatering to me. you should prolly let your pots dry more before the next watering. if the soil is moist after watering and then dry the next day then you water at the 3rd day again. the soil deeper than your finger can reach is probably still moist and when you water again you just maintain a perpetually soggy environment.

11" high plants in 12oz of dirt that need water every two days are in need of a repot. I let plants like that stand in a shallow dish of their own runoff for hours.

They do have a runoff dish. The bottles are so small because I only have 18" of height in about 1 square foot of area. It's kind of a mini Dr. Bud SOG. All the males responded great to it, until I axed them. Most of the females have too, it's just these 2 that have gone haywire.

Today they look droopier and very dry, but I'm still waiting til tomorrow to water them. The reason is, I kept 2 males that I ID'ed on Saturday and removed from the cab. They have just been sitting on my washing machine with no water, no nutes and very little light for four days now and they look great. The mothers of these males are along side them in 18oz party cups, they show the lack of water and don't look so great. What bugs me is that I think I have a better chance of saving these neglected males than I do these 2 sickly females. Sigh

Update

For two waterings I flushed the shit out of them using tap water (7.5) I was obviously checking my run off wrong because it was less than 6, thats as low as my fish tank checker goes. The flush's brought run off up to 6.4 so on the second watering a littleyesterday I added Flora Nova Bloom for the final dunking. The run off was around 6.0 or less so I worried a little. Today the difference is incredible. So, my new question is: can I continue to just flush every watering then add nutes to the last dunk, or am I in for trouble?
