Serious problem need help

Ok, been stressing out for almost 24 hours now, have a Turboair
mini split system in my grow room, it was installed by a local HVAC contractor 2 1/2 years ago....prior to putting anything in the room, it was a new construction build out...now I am having problems with it....will not cool...just blows hot air.....and then shuts off with a E4 message....thought it was low on freon, but had the same contractor come over to fill it up.....they said keep it running and they could do it without getting inside, as I was gone when they arrived....had 1 of my workers there with the guy, but the unit shut off before they got there...now he said they have to get to the inside part of the split system to see what the problem is.......I just can't let them in there....It just not happening........I trust knowone........

any advice?

Have looked on line for trouble shooting info....not much there....I am calling the manufactures rep this morning to report the problems....maybe they can direct me how to fix myself....

It not easy to take everything out of the room....2 table will harvest in 1 week.....the others are only week 2-3 in flower....but all the lights....tables....clones...

mother plants....crap is everywhere......

++++where ever I move stuff....I have no carbon filters....and the smell will be strong.

I could go get a window unit....at home depot for $600...and install it myself....and try and get by for a while......till I figure it out.

My lights run from midnight till noon....and without doing anything
except using my exhaust fan.....temps are 72-86.....this hot weather is just brutal....

any help is much appricated.

get some boxes rent a cube van buy or rent an ozone generator

Toss in the unit you can get from the Depot...I think it would be best, then clean the room when harvest is done and have any repairs made at that point.

I'm like you, "trust no one".

i think the depot has a 90 return poilcy, if not find a place that does, walmart even? buy the biggest, badest window unit and just return it when harevest is over, clean up. and get things repaired

Having a back up unit is a good idea in case something happens again - if you can afford and store it safely. Crooks are stealing AC units right and left around here...even off of businesses and such...

Talked to manufacture...said that code E4 is the code for low on freon...which they can add on the outside, so got it set up for tomorrow.....sure hope this works.....just have to make sure the unit is on....and they said it should be good to go.

Chances are your contractor already knows. Your AC is probably severely oversized for the room its cooling. As sketch as it may seem, find a cool hvac guy, pay him well + fat tip, chances are the honest hard-workin dude is gonna mind his own business. Contractors generally aren't the goody2shoes or snitch type.

Well.....it's not fixed...and today was wayyyy hot....grow room got to 90 today, but I worked with the repair guy and we found out the problem...a part will be ordered on Monday...and will he here tuesday and installed the same day...should take care of the problem........Well.....it just goes to show.....you always need a back up......I do not have one....but I will.

thanks for all your help.

This seems like ok advise to me.

Also WD remember you do trust some people. You have at least one employee, and if I am not mistaken you posted a photo of your tax information. So you probably trust all of us and the IRS to know that you grow the flowers ;)

In every area there's an electrician, hvac and a handy man that is farmer specific. You need to somehow find that guy for emergencies...

Sorry about the late posting...but this baby is fixed....once the module was installed it was working again....WOO HOO.....it now 72-78 again in my room.....what a difference....

what I learned....while no plants died....they drank way faster than any plants I ever had in my room....and of course the reaction to the heat is just being examined now....I can tell everyone for a fact....they do not like heat in the 90's ....ya the grow well, but its way out of their confort zone.
