Semi Auto Flowernig

Can anyone tell me what 'low light conditions' are? Because the semi auto flowering concept seems great for my temporary space and location constraints (i.e., I have access to a balcony for a while).

Has anyone here used the semi-auto concept and how did it work out?

From Femaleseeds.nl, and their Outdoor Grapefruit:

Female Seeds
Outdoor Grapefruit

Exclusive !

Here we have a small batch of an Grapefruit inbred with Easy Sativa. An 80% Grapefruit selected on early and fast flowering for several generations.

This is a semi autoflowering strain, which starts flowering begin-mid August and finishes end September.

This means that she starts flowering in low light conditions or from August.

Please note that a semi-autoflowering strain is not to be confused with an autoflowering strain. Those are fast maturing indica lines. This is a late maturing sativa line. The best sowing time is mid April to mid May.

We wouldn't recommend pre-growing her indoors, because she is semi-auto-flowering and this would cause her to start flowering in May outdoors. She needs the longer days and intensive midsummer sun to keep in growth. Expect extreme fruity/pine taste and smell, very sativa-ish.

Yeah, Grapefruit will do that. She's notorious for being difficult to keep in veg. Anything less than 16/8 she'll start flowering. Some phenos of LUI will do it too since it is part GF.

I don't know if I'd call it semi-auto. I'd say it's just more susceptible to shorter days than most plants and responds to shorter days before anything else.

I'm not sure what they mean by "low light". To me, it comes across as "shorter days" as they mention August, and the longest day of the year is in June. Just a guess.

That sounds like a great quality to me. There are other growers who don't spend a lot of time vegging their plants.

Well if I can flower them and keep them outside, that's great. I would be ideal for an unlighted greenhouse too.

If there are more semi auto strains, please post them here.
