Happy New Year guys,
I think ive worked out a way to get better at life. If your anything like me your probably living to maybe 50% of your potential. Efforts must be doubled!!
It involves little steps everyday, and list writing every night.
This is by no means a new idea, but sometimes its doing the simple stuff in life well that can really make one successful. Success to me is living every day productively & happily, taking steps each and every day towards HONOURABLE goals in life. I would add here too; rest days are important as well, and much more appreciated when one is busy the rest of the time.
Its really quite simple and practical really; what it involves is every evening, sit down and write a list of say 2-6 things to do tomorrow that you know you need to do, but have been putting off for no good reasons other than laziness and lack of motivation. The next day, once you finish one of the tasks, make sure you physically cross it off the list to signify that job has been accomplished. This part is important. I might also add you can write things to the list that you don't want to do.. eg: Not shooting heroin might be a good thing not to do, or something less extreme such as no alcohol or refined sugars or whatever it may be. At the end of the day, cross the "do not's" off the list too, you did it. See what i did there? This provides an unexpected source of extra willpower i have found.
Ever since ive started writing lists for myself to do every day, i find myself much more productive and happier to boot.
What has also happened to me is, after a week or 3 of doing this, i ran out of obvious menial things to do, which was great! But what now i lamented..? But my mind didn't really accept this state of limbo for long after disciplined list writing for a few weeks, and i found myself then WANTING to undertake the more complex hobbies/tasks that one has been meaning to do forever, but just has not done. Does that make sense? Thats progress RIGHT THERE.
If you struggle to motivate yourself in life for whatever reasons, try this and see how far you can take it. For me this all comes from the true realization that life is over sooooooo fast; so if you dont want to have any regrets, get busy living or get busy dying yo
Peace & best wishes for 2014
