self contained grow rooms

I did run a search and nothing came up for this topic. Has anyone purchased one of these canvas grow rooms and what was your result? I'm looking at picking one up and running w/ a 2' 8 lamp t-5 fixture, or possibly a 400w CMH. The one I saw was 180.00 for just the room.

Any suggestions, ideas or comments?

Are you talking about the Hydro Hut type grow tents? There have been a lot of problems with those tents. Search "out-gassing". (I'm not dissing all tents, just suggesting you do some research before you buy because there have been problems with some of them.)

I have a homebox L that i've used with a 400 watt hps for 2 grow cycles without any problem whatsoever. If i knew everything i knew now about grow thens tho i would probally get a secret jardin

you should be ok but i bet for the price u pay for the t5's u can get a nice 400wcmh setup id go with that then switch out to HPS for flower...You need to get venelation i would reccomend a 4 inch vortex fan or 2 if you plan on running a carbon filter....


1 for the carbon filter 1 for air cooling the 400....

Thanks for the advice. I will continue to research...As for using a HID bulb, I'm trying to keep it as simple and un-conspicuous as possible, ie, no seperate ballast and lower electricity bills. I used the 400w CMH in the past but not in a tent.
