Hey everyone i came across some odur removing CFL type light.

I saw it on the Canadian Shopping Channel.

Invivo Ionic Light with Air Purifier - Set of 2 $24.99(S&H: $6.96)

CLICKY

DO you think if i have 2 of them running in a 3 x 3 x 6 foot room it will eliminate the odur during flowering? (4 plants)

Thanks

never used them but i'd have my money on no freaking way. flowering plants are very smelly. unless you got some awesome genes that don't smell like dank i'd stick to carbon filtering for removing odor in your room. anything that emits some sort of purifying agent into the air would never enter my grow. just my opinion.

yah your right it does emit something.. but is it bad? heres a quote

"This new revolutionary Invivo Ionic Light can change your life by purifying the air in your environment. The unit combines an energy saving fluorescent bulb in a standard screw-in format with a revolutionary negative ion emitter that produces above 2 million negative ions in the air and rated for 11,000 hours of life (6 years, 5 hours per day)."

to be honest with you i have no experience with a "ion emitting bulb" maybe someone around here has some. one thing i do know is that carbon filters, if set up properly, will remove all odors from your air that you or i could smell. i'm sure you get use to the smell off your plants over time and don't notice it, but my gf doesn't smoke and she doesn't know i grow. i always ask if it smells like dank and never has she said it did. in carbon i trust!

as far as safe for the plants..... i know carbon is. lol but really, would you want to be the first with a post titled "my ionized bulb ruined my crop". :fsu:

if the cost of a carbon filter is what is holding you back, check out the many DIY filters around the site. i'm using carbon for fish tank filters, two netpots and some 4" duct. my plants fuckin reek of skunk when i open my door to the grow, and only after i open it. put it this way, every person(almost) on this site that is worried about the smell of our beloved plants uses carbon. i hear the vaportech (not sure if thats the right name) works but there pricey and the refills are not cheap.

I think everyone is right on about flowering plants being way too stinky to be covered up by 2 of those. Plus, what about during the dark period? How will you control odor, you can't have CFL's on in your chamber, it will fu*k up everything. I would say double no.

nightcrawler,
sticking to carbon is a very good idea. what size and setup depends on a lot of factors. tell me what your trying to do. like cool the whole room with the same fan/scrubber? or to simply control the odor.

if your only looking to control the odor it doesn't need to be a extreme overkill fan and scrubber. it only needs to create negative pressure in your space to stop odor. your filter could be made for 30-40 and the stanley blower is 40 at walbogs. if you never used or seen a stanley you have to check out how sick they are for the cost. i got one cooling a cab with a 400w cmh with it on low(isn't very low) and it's way quieter than my 6" canfan(that fucker sounds like a tornado on high).

let me know what your trying to do and i'll give my advise on what to run.

Basicaly i have a shower i want to use, plastic, and all white. its abit smaller than 4 x 4 x6.5 and the outer area is about 5 x 4 x 6.5. There will be 4 plants at most at a time in there.

Thanks for the help Stke_fingas

are you trying to cool your lights with it too?

is this a personal stash your trying for?

there are many cabs out there that produce more than the average smoker can burn. cabs are much easier to handle than a open bathroom and the potential of production is getting wild with the vertical designs.

if it's in the shower without the grow area sealed off it'll smell the whole place up. FYI if your going to use the shower without sealing it off you might as well use the whole bathroom. maybe just the shower as the veg/clone area. IMHO it's harder to stop the smell the bigger the garden gets. more area= more chance for leaks. base boards, under sink, pluming holes, any small crack will let the smell through.

if i could understand what your trying to achieve(#'s) i could help a lot more. unless your trying to pull bow's i'd save the bathroom for a later day. a cab can save a lot of trouble and space.

Since those things are not that spendy it might not be a bad idea to throw them in some light sockets around the house. Maybe by your front door. Carbon would be important for the room itself, no light is going to make a difference in a room full of plants. It might not hurt for other areas of your place. Just another line of defense. I might get some to help with the boot smell in my entry room. Then again a light might not do squat against a bunch of stinky boots.

Let me make a simple suggestion. How large an area are you trying to cover the scent for anyway? If it is a small area, make a do it yourself(diy) carbon filter. But go ghetto tech on the residual odor control if you can or like the scent of pinesol or pine oil. Buy a simple inexpensive waterfall the dinky little desktop type. Fill it with pinesol or some other de-odorizer and let it run. It's cheap, ghetto, and super effective. A $3 bottle of disinfectant odor remover will last for a couple of months. Go as organic as possible. I like scented oils myself.

nightcrawler,
two o's a month is not hard to achieve. lol I've never tried to reveg a flowered plant but it's not what you want to do if your trying to to keep dank in your bowl. clones work great when your trying to keep an even canopy(makes a huge difference in yield). cloning is easy and i think the only reason to reveg is that your clones didn't make it. it doesn't sound like space is a factor for you so why not keep a mom or two? i would strongly recommend a cab to pull those numbers. anything bigger and your wasting space. i.e. your shower is way more than enough room to achieve your goal.

if i had a flat garden in my cab i wouldn't even dream of pulling a half pz. lucky to get a few o's out of it. but the vertical light/screen allows me to really pick up on production. i suggest the same to you, vertical is the only way i grow. everything else makes for waste. my cab is small and i bet i'll pull about the same as the big cab guys(if there using a flat traditional garden).

there is tons of info on cab design with a lot of people willing to lend a hand. if vertical is something you want to try i'll be more than happy to post up my new idea's for you to take a look at.

Im not short on space... but im alsno not allowed to have too many plants.... Ive cloned before, worked out real well, but i was thinking, the thick stem and roots are already there, why not reuse?

Im thinking of having 2 mothers, and 3 plants vegging and 3 plants flowering so 8 plants total.
