Seeds lifespan.

I have a few seeds that have been in a water glass for about a week. Both have about half inch tail, but I can't plant them yet. Do they survive for another week or so in the glass?

Cheers

Nope....they will drown.

Once the tail emerges, seeds need to be put into the growing medium.

Even if you can only put them into small plastic cups with some sort of medium (soil, perlite, vermiculite, whatever) as a temporary home, leaving them underwater is a no-no.

I agree you - the seeds are going to drown. The roots sound like they're strong enough to be put into a growing medium at this point. Once they've started to grow, they want to continue to grow, so they need to get nutrients from soil or from whatever growing medium you end up using.

A plant can not survive on water alone, you know. You couldn't either.

Get it out of the water. Why are you keeping it in there anyways?

I bet they're already dead...

You don't germinate until you're ready...how do I know...don't ask...

You MAY get lucky if you already planted them.

Good luck.
