Seeds in my "female" plants?

HI all,

I was just wondering if it's normal for a female plant (clone or seed-grown) to grow all the way to harvest, but when you are working with the dried buds you find just a very few mature-looking seeds. I can't figure that one out, but it's happened twice to me now and I'd like to know if those seeds are worth saving. Anyone have an opinion?

Thanks!

is it possible you didn't notice just a few tiny "banana" looking structures filled with pollen? i have seen this happen- even though you are working with "female" plants....i am a curious type who would definately save the seeds.....

oh, also, mojave dave.....do you think there might be a few grains of cannabis pollen in the air around where you live or perhaps possibly on your clothes or in your hair? i guess that is another possibility....

i love your photo of the 2-toned leaf! thanks for providing it......-gp out

Hi ya,

Yeah, anything is possible I suppose. But isn't it wierd just a few seedslike that? Good-looking seeds too. Very healthy and dark. I think I will keep them and grow them out some time just for grins and see what happens.

Thanks for the kind words about that weird leaf. I've never seen anything like it before so I thought I should ask! *grin*

Later gator!

It's not unusual for feminized seeds to grow plants with a few male flowers scattered through the plant. Depends somewhat on how the "feminized" seeds were created - some are created from hermies, which tends to produce more hermies.

It is also possible for stress to cause plants to grow a few male flowers (light leaks during the dark period are a common cause).

If you grow a plant over its say prime harvest time its quite common for a few seeds to pop up and I believe these seeds to be feminized also if I have read correctly and studied it correctly. Hpoe that is the case for you bro. :woohoo: Nice to have beans you know will be female eh?? lol Good to see you around brother ,we havn't spoke in awhile, keep in touch ok ...ndn

not wierd at all my friend, if there are only a couple of isolated nanas then the seeds will be few, sometimes those nanas will be tucked away so well hidden that you wont see em till you notice some seeds clustered around the remnants or it in a bud, if theyre stuck inbetween two buds in the crook of the plant and surrounded then I suppose its hard for the pollen to get spread around......I get this often because im always starting something new, its the bane of my sodding life mate lol
Also the flowering too long thingy....I believe this is what Soma calls ""Rodelization"" and I think I read that this is how he makes his Fem seeds!

I've heard that the female plant will produce seeds if no males around, a tale or not! But I did get 10 seeds from 5 female plants, which I'll plant and see what happens. :smoker:

If your plants did not get pollinated by a male then you have just hit the jack pot! Those seeds should all be female, without introducing male pollen to a plant there are no y chromosomes so they should all be female.

I had a white widow from Nirvana a couple of years ago that produced 10 seeds and they all turned out female.

I have been finding the odd seed in my plants and can't figure out how it happened. I find about one seed for every 2 or 3 plants, the seeds are still white and imature. I am starting to think it is because of the high amounts of cannibis pollen in the air outside. :biglaugh:

Anything is possible. I have collected them all now, and ended up with about 150 nice, dark, colourful seeds. I can grow this powerful strain noiw whenever I like now!

Thanks everybody for all the adice.
