Seeds, How do I know?

If I got some seeds from a plant that hermied a bit or even if I have a male plant producing millions of seeds, how would I know that the seeds are mature and or viable for planting?

Put them in soil and add water. Best way to find out.

plant them or....try a few in the paper towel method to see....yeehaw

Generally darker color, hard and some types of striping/spots on the seed. White/immature seeds can sprout as well but may not always have as good of luck. Either way, best test like others said is just try it.

The below seeds I would consider mostly fully mature seeds, some are on the edge but I wouldn't hesitate to sow any.
