Seedlings yellow bottom leaves + twist

I have a few seedlings, about 2-3 weeks old. The other day i noticed yellow spots showing on the lower set of leaves and it appears to be getting worse. Also ive noticed quite a few twisted/turned leaves.

Im leaning toward PH from what ive read...thoughts?

In Stitch's sick plants sticky thread, there is a troubleshooting thingy. If you fill that out, people will be able to help you better.

reason why they work for you is because you have an g account.

you can upload them here, just upload them in your gallery and do not post them here, because it won't let you, because you don't have enough posts to post pictures in threads yet.

Here are some pics, hopefully this will help. The bottom 2 leaves are kinda hard on one of the seedlings. Thinking about transplanting tomorrow and then maybe getting some bat guano or N food.
Hold off on the feeding 'til we're done with you bro. Hot soil is potentially the problem here.

Ok, well what are my options? Currently they are under a 4ft shoplight that puts very very little heat if any at all. Would putting my babies in bigger pots help? I Ph'd my water using the $5 pool tester from wal-mart (where you add drops of red and whatnot) and it came out very high, like 7.4 or so. The chlorine was pretty high too. Could this be playing a part?

Not that kind of hot. I don't use the stuff myself, but the consensus around here is that Ocean Forest is too rich of a soil for seedlings. The recommended Fox Farm soil for seedlings is Light Warrior(I think).

Are you testing for chlorine after the water sits for a few days or straight from the tap?

Personally, I would move them to a lighter soil, THEN see if the problem continues. It wouldn't hurt to pH your tap water, but 7.4 is not that bad and is probably not what's tearing up your plants.

oh ya, and "hot," in the context used in this thread, means too much fertilizer in the soil for the plant to comfortably grow.

LOL hot soil, I get it now...thanks for the explanation.

I tested chlorine right away, I understand it evaporates so I will let it sit for a few days before giving to the babies. I'll check into the Light Warrior or a lighter soil asap!

And yes I have holes in the cup. I have a question about perlite in the cups, should I mix it in throughout the soil or just leave perlite in the bottom for drainage?

Thank you guys so much, you've helped me very much.

You do have to mix most of it in. Whether or not you leave some on the bottom is up to you. Personally, I do because it keeps water from pooling up in spots and going stagnant.
