Seedlings Stretch

I am having lots of trouble with an insane seedling stretch. They break the seed in less than 24 hrs. So I put them in a large Coco cup in a dome in absolute darkness, warm & humid. Still they stretch. I put a light (23 watt CFL) fairly close (!8"). outside the dome. Still they stretch. I remove the cover from their warm humid dome, put the light much closer (2"). Still they stretch. Im sure lotsa folks have seen it. What do I do?

with t5's 5cm close you should get nice seedlings. a bit of stretch in the seedling stage is not the end of the world, once they make real leaves they will normalize. just support them till they grow out of that lanky stage.

Most people tend to clear out the bottom third of a plant anyway so shouldn't matter. If you are tight on space just transplant deep and bury the stalk

I don't mind at all when a seedling stretches. Once it starts getting its second and third etc sets of leaves coming in you want to watch internode length, but as far as I'm concerned a stretchy seedling just means all the more to bury (and start making good roots) when it comes time to plant.

Make sure they get enough light and have a fan gently blowing in them to help.

Doubtless you know this already, but some strains are much stretchier than others. You don't mention what strain you are running with here. What is it?
