Probably the plants natural way to avoid the wind from the fan. Seedlings that small don't like to have air blowing on them. I'd atleast wait until it has a few nodes and is taller before unleashing a fan on it. Give it another week then start using the fan. Just my 2 cents

Hrmm, turning it off now. I have another fan in the room that is strictly for air circulation. I am using the other one for circulation and to strengthen the stalks. I'll let you all know what happend : )

I had a similar problem and shut my fan down and noticed a much better look to the leaves in about a day. What type of soil mix or soiless mix do you use??? How much water do you give them and how often??? What type of lights do you use and how far away??? I always use a super aerated mix for starters so the seeds have no problems establishing a good root system and the when I transplant I use a slightly stiffer mix. Give some more info and maybe we could pinpoint you problem(s). Goodluck

Hey, thanks for the input. I am growing hydro. I have no nutes in the water yet. It's a 10 gallon DWC bubble and I am using several sunbulbs with a 35 watt usage and a 100 watt output. The seed I am concerned about it picutured on the far right in the middle. This may give you an idea of the amount of light hitting that particular plant. Thanks.

i would move those cf;s a bit closer to those seedlings for one thing

i would start to add some weak nutes to thsoe seedlings too

with a big container like that i know its hard to airiate it well not to mention change the water in it

how much air you got going through there? air stones and air pumps

Update as promised! I turned the fan off and in just about a day the curved leaf problem was solved. I also added nutes to the seedling and they look very happy : )

good to hear they are looking better. But that Mylar on the walls....is it even doing any good. It seems way to far to really even be reflecting any light and helping.

If you wanted you could get some cardboard and glue the mylar on that and surround th area with the cardboard like walls.

and as stich said , Id get those CFLs a lot closer.

I thought that would be the issue. Wait until they are just a little bigger and then turn the fan back on. Goodluck to you.

no fans. its just a seedling my friend. wait for it to get a bit bigger and your using more lights. another 2 weeks and try the fan again. try to bend the stem back and forth gently to strenghten it, and be careful also. use this method when the seedling is bigger, its just so small man. hehe

I definitely agree that you need to get those lights closer. It looks as though you already have something holding it up.

If that is the case you plant is really stretching and having more troubles. Get those lights to with a few inches of the plants.

I have to chime in about your room setup, that mylar is way to far away. Combine that with your flouro's being so far away you are loosing almost all of your light. For every foot away your light is you are loosing about 75% of the lumens.

I would move the rubber maids to the corner, so at least you are utilizing the mylar, second thing I would do is drop the lights way closer to the plants. I would put 2 reflectors per rubbermaid.

The next thing I would do put up 2 more "walls" and mylar those so you have 4 walls of mylar real close to the plants. even use cardboard if you have to a fridge box would work perfect. Also get that 4Ft flouro closer to the plants.

but other than that it looks good.

I thought about all of that. I realize the mylar isn't doing much. I decided not to use it. I set the mylar up and changed my mind about what size grow I was going to do. I don't care to use it for this grow, it does reflect a little bit though with my HPS installed. I also placed some under the plants and they are looking great!
