Seedlings in Trouble

Okay so I walked into my room and discovered a few bugs in my 2 day old seedlings.

-A few were flying, mostly toward the bulb figured fungus gnat or white fly.

-White looking bug crawling near the top of the dirt. Seemed to hop about. Figured it was thrips.

-Small dark flying bug with shiny wings also seen.

I have had thrips before, they suck...
I have Safer Soap OMRI, Shultz 3 in One, and Neem oil. These are a few years old...
I have a fresh new aresol can of 1600 X-clude Time Release Pyrethum...

Temp is between 70-78 usually
Humidity is around 45%

BUT these plants are 2 days old...What can I do??
Any and all responces are appreciated.

I've read that a (½" - 1") layer of perlite or sand on top of the soil will keep nuisance bugs out of the soil. I've never had a problem with bugs in the soil and I've never tried it.

I use Hot Shot No Pest Strips (Home Depot, $6.50) as a preventive measure and they work well for me.

Check out post #6 in MynameStitch's guide for more info on pests.

imo, hot shot no pest strips DO NOT work. i've tried placing it in different spots at different heights and there are still spider mites as well as fungus gnats. the dude at my hydro store told me they sell a lot of fox farm don't bug me, which is a spray. i just bought it today and we will see the results in a few days.

I've heard the no pest strips don't work well too. I checked out that post and it looks like i'm gonna give them a dose of Neem Oil in the morning. It worries me that they are only 3 days old now but it is organic. I'd really like to get some nematodes or Spinosad. But it's expensive and takes time to arrive.

I've used Fox Farm products before and I liked them well enough. Let me know how that spray turns out. Thanks for the advice guys!.

I guess I should have clarified... I'm not necessarily saying the No Pest strips keep away thrips, spider mites, fungus gnats or whiteflies-- I've never had any of those pests.

They do work well for the pests listed on the package and the occasional moth fly, though. In that regard, it works for me.

Regardless, glad you found a course of action for your problem.

No pest strips do work well, they work well if placed in the right places around your plants, if you do not place them correctly then they won't work and that is natural.
Just like if you placed a bug bombs not around the bugs it's not going to affectedly work well.
