Seedlings: First set of real leaves dying?

My seedlings are on their 3-4th set of leaves. The new leaves are looking pretty healthy, but the first set of leaves on all three plants are looking rather decrepit. Is this cause for concern?

Yes that is a sign of overwatering. Get a fan on those plants. Transplant them into at least 6-8inch containers tomorrow.

Only water when the pot feels light. Wet-dry cycles are crucial. You probably won't need to water for 5-7 days after the transplant.

The fan brings fresh air to the micro climate that surrounds each plant. When a plant transpires (breathes) it takes up moisture from the soil through it's roots and releases it through the pores on the leaves. Moving air helps carry away this stale moist air and helps the plant release moisture. It also brings in fresh CO2 for the plant.

Keep this in mind for this case only :

necrosis + yellow : lack of O², to many water % retention
yellow only if erected to the light : need N

another trick :

Plants subsided : lack of pressure in stems, problem with water (too many or not enough)
Plants erected to the light : high pressure on stems, vigor to his full potential
