Seedlings dissapearing..?

I've been trying to start my own grow for about a month now and every seed i start germs (inside a covered seedling tray). I've gone through 24 seeds now and everytime a little sprout reaches two or three days it looks like it has been eaten by something overnight. Just above the soil line they either fall down limp and wilty like they got pinched or there is just a little nub left (a few times not even that. Until i get my box finalized i've been putting them out in the morning where they get morn. sun and are shaded in the evening. Then after the first night this happened i decided to bring them in at night because i thought slugs were eating them.
I have three poor looking seedlings left (they were the best looking ones) i don't know if i can save them. If anyone can help then please...

Thats damping off fungus,i bet theres a brown line on the stem at the soil line, this is cause by excess moisture in the soil and high humidity, next time leave the lid off and don't soak the soil excessively and you shouldn't have this problem again.

could be the damping off, like they said take the lid off when they get threw the soil line, also it might be easyer to use some flourescent light's,

if you continue using the sun please take them in at night.

or something eating it slugs leave a nasty trail you can find easy but they usually would like a bigger meal, i think, although id imagine a seed would be quite tasty if they got it all.

i had a single mouse eat 10 very important seeds over a few days, it was horrible, but something that happen's, im not sure why i left them in the same place looking back?

anyway sticky trap is good they are really stuck, but you honestly can't try to take the mouse off and let him live, you just cant so its kinda rotten, so now i use the old ones so i dont have to see the mouse all jacked like that, its so sticky it breaks his legs when he trys to run, then gets in his eyes and all sorts of shit it was perrty nasty,oh and he is usually still alive, my wife was mad at me, and thought i did it on purpose or something.

anyway the traps that smash your fingers 1 outa 10 times are what i use and recommend to anyone who dont wanna see something suffer for no reason.

other then that try less water also drenching them and heat in the container really causes damping off fast. some damping off for clones can have a white line ive noticed at the soil line so watch out.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys

I've left the little seedling pots i'm using out in the sun for a few days to dry them out then when i try another round just reuse... or should i sterilize it first? i'm using a mix of coco-coir and perlite to start with and some organic hydro-type nutes ( highly dilute just to pre-moisten the medium, seems i may have over-done it). Suppose i will have to go ahead and finish the mother chamber so i can move the seedlings as soon as they break soil. i now have one little hope from the first two rounds but it doesn't look happy about loosing the first little "real?" leaves that pop out almost simultaneously with the cotyledons. This happened with about half of the seeds that i sprouted and i'm new to this so i'm curious as to what that may mean? I'm also thinking about adding some
diatomaceous earth to the medium. IC is the very best.

P.S. Look forward to my pictorial of how i made my ultra-quiet fan/scrubber!

When I grew outdoors, I learned the hard way that nothing goes outside till it's at least a foot tall. Most critters don't like weed but it takes a bite or three to figure it out. Seedlings aren't big enough to survive the test.

Personally, I'm a BIG anti-dome kinda' guy. You can use them on seeds to keep media moist but, a living plant or seedling should be kept as far from domes as possible. The best it can do is weaken them and make them dependant on dangerously high levels of RH.

Oldtoker a A lil pam or cooking oil will get those suckers right off those glue traps... I find them the most humane, of course if u find them before they break their legs. oil em up and let em go..

The problem here seems to be covered though. Sounds like to much humidity/moisture.. I lost a few clones in my day like that..
