seedling q's/distinguishing males from females?

I was just wondering what your methods were for detemining sex in seedlings and How far into veg do the seedlings begin to show signs of their sex?
if I just leave my plants in veg will there be any risk of the males pollinating the females after a couple months? or does pollination only occur when flowering is induced?
I always grow from clone but its too hard to tell if what your getting is the real deal so I ordered me some seeds and am giving it a whirl as I feel like a wuss not knowing how to even sex plants properly by now, my current babies are about 3 weeks old so when sould I be expecting to see some signs? thanx fellas

You're probably gonna get some crap from the mods for putting this is the wrong room...

But in the meantime, depending on what strain you've got it's quite likely they'll start showing preflowers around 30 days of veg, give or take a few days. If not, you may need to induce flowering in order to see preflowers.

okrascope is right. Without inducing flowering. It will be about 30 days or so before you can tell. Now even then at 30 days it will just be pre-flowers. That won't be a definate. A good method givin you have the time, and space. Take a topping, and put it directly into 12/12, or even 10/14 light cycle. You'll find out what the sex is. Then you can have a lil herb given there are some females if you let them go thru all the weeks of flowering. It will give you something even if a lil bit. To smoke before you get the main harvest in. Hope that helps..peace...
