I am using the Advanced Platinum Series P450 LED light in Veg mode currently. The company sent a flier/letter with recommendations on what mode and height it recommends during the plants life cycle. The light has both Veg and Bloom options.
For me, it's getting confusing because there is quite the gap in distance the company recommends between "Seedlings & Clones" and "Early Vegetative Growth". As well as the definition of each stage in the life cycle as given below by Platinum LED.
How do I know where to set my height, and how do I know when to adjust it? All of this while keeping in mind I can't set it exact, or the plant won't have room to grow into the light without being too close.
My girls are only in Day 4 of Veg, (check out my grow diary!) so obviously in the seedling stage. I currently have the light 38 inches above the "canopy".
Here is what the company recommends:
Do you think "Early Vegetative Growth" would be week two? Week three? Or am I thinking about it all wrong and it's more of a "how the plant looks" sort of thing?
Anyone have suggestions? It is mucho appreciated!

Here is what the company recommends:
- Seedlings & Clones: 36-40 inches / Veg Switch Only
- Early Vegetative Growth: 24 inches / Veg Switch Only
- Late Vegetative Growth: 24 inches / Both Veg & Bloom Switches
- Flower: 18 inches / Both Veg & Bloom Switches
