Seeded females

Tomorrow is day 70 of 75 for my selectvely pollenated purple mazar. My question is, is there a rule of thumb for letting preggo females go for a few days longer since they expend energy on seed making during flowering? Jusst want to make sure i dont pluck her early.

Peace

All depends when you pollinated her mate, 4-5 weeks from pollination should ensure fully ripe beans.

Have you checked a few seeds to see if they are ripe?

I actually cut a branch yesterday. I hit her with both s60 and pm pollen and i'm afraid the pollen spread haha. The seeds look like s60 beans, larger than the mazar seeds i bought but also that light color.

She was hit with pollen around days 30-37. So i shouldnt have to worry bout giving her an extra week or so?

Thanks mitch

If the seeds from the branch you took look good then I'm sure you will be fine.

I'd wait until day 75 to be super sure, then dry them well with the seeds still in.

I normally give them 4 weeks from the day I pollinated and then start having a poke around to see what they're looking like.

I've found when I've selectively pollinated they mature faster than a full plant pollination, and the quality is normally higher.
