i keep mine in glass tubes with rice in the refrigerater or freezer depending on how long i expect to keep them.
actually, i was just getting ready to upload some pics of my seed collection to my gallery if you want to take a look.
it's be an hour or so before they're up though
well a couple years ago i remember sprouting some seed that had been been in the freezer for about a year and a half and only 3 or 4 didnt sprout out of about 30. but i've never really kept them in the fridge for more than 5 or 6 months always with great results.
i would think it would vary from variety to variety but i dont know for sure. i usually don't keep more than i intend to within 6 months in the fridge.
i'm sure bog, rez, or john lee pedimore would probably have more insight into this. i'll pm them and ask them to check out this thread. so we can get all thier opinions
****EDIT****
Ok, sent pm to jlp, rez, bog, soma, and wallyduck. i'm sure that between em you'll find out all you need to know
I keep all mine in the crisper drawer of my fridge, mostly in breeder packs or zip locks.I've germed them after a couple years.
But for long term storage I would freeze them.
well i have 10 left,
i suppose i can part with about 5 of em considering i won't be hurting for beans without em. and since they were free to me...........NO CHARGE
just pm me
i like the freezer as no one looks in there much , i think you ll find some go to a lot of trouble to keep the environment just right , soma has his in a blood bank fridge , and gypsy has a few seed fridge vaults i think youll find ...
