well that is good news!!! thanks so much CBF, i am psyched!!! Thanks Teresa, its getting there... I really want to plant some of each next summer, but that would be a ridiculous amount of plants to deal with I think i am going for 100 seed starts for the summmer, then by the time runts, males, slow growing plants, and deaths, i should have the perfect amount outdoors

I could only wish to have one of each seed to plant... lol wow... those are impressive... but in all seriousness... how old is too old as far as seeds go... the bagseed I'm waiting to sprout seedings is anywhere from 7-10 years old... I didn't expect to see tap roots, but I did... just taking forever to get seedlings...

beans ive put in cold storage over a year ago have sprouted fine. my personal germination ratio aint nothin to brag about though.

I know I am forgetting a bunch but I like being a germplast center. I need to check the depository.

To add some info about seed viability, if properly stored, my germination rates have been excellent. I ordered some Nirvana blueberry and WW and others and when I recieved it, it was called blue Mystic. These beans have been kept in the freezer in an air tight container with dessicant on the bottom. Recently, I removed the BM and WW and transferred them to the frig for a day.I gradually, brought them up to rom temperature. A frozen bean is very fragile. In fact I don't stored them that way anymore. I germed 5 of BM and WW and all cracked. Only 1 from each didn't sprout and that probably was due to being spilled. With that boo-boo, 80% germination for 5 years frozen beans isn't bad and like I said it could have been better if I wasn't such a clumsy stoner. Those seedling are 1 month old and doing great.
