Seed germination - possible bad seed?

So i'm soaking a batch of seeds in prep for paper towel germination.

1x Afghan Kush x Skunk (fem)
1x Bubblelicious (fem)
1x El Nino (fem)
1x Nemesis (fem)

I literally just put the seeds in water not 20 minutes ago...and the Nemesis seed is already sunk. I was under the impression it would take several hours. If a seed sinks very quickly like that, is it indicative of a bad seed? I just inspected it with a 20x lighted loupe and if the seed coat is cracked it's a hairline one that I can't see.

Seriously, put the seed in the wet paper towel, dirt or whatever your medium will be and step away from the room for a day or two.

Not really a fan of the glass of water either. Wet towel in bag for me.

Glad to hear you got her to pop.

Yeah, I just do the wet paper towel between two saucers, and, from a great tip in another thread to guarantee a high rate of germination, I stuck the saucers on top of my 4' florescent lamp, and nearly all of them sprouted. (My first two attempts without the lamp, only 3-4 sprouted.)

Hey, my first post on ICmag! Hey, y'all! (And my first grow in 20 years; I'm relearning everything I forgot)
