Security assistance

So I'm moving int a new place, the name on the rental agreement isn't going to be mine and I'm pretty much taking over one room for the garden.

Aside from obvious security issues (odor's on lock, not a soul is hearing anything about this) what else should I concern myself with?

I got a buddy to be a gopher for all my supplies, which is always good. I told him to do it all during the day nonchalantly, take the shit back to his house and leave it there. I'll come over and pick it up once he has everything. Good idea, no?

Any other bases I needa cover? I feel pretty confident that we can pull this off drawing ZILCH attention, so just let me know if I left anything out.

If not a soul is hearing anything about it, what did you tell your buddy? If he knows about the grow, it's guranteed his wife or girlfriend knows, and then anyone she knows, etc. etc.. everyone knows. I'd tell him you scrapped the plan and pick the stuff up yourself.

I'm going to assume the person on the rental agreement is not a real person. Otherwise, it's his ass if you get caught, and that would be a massive douchebag move.

Just be sure to maintain a clean facade. Make it so someone could tour your apartment (minus that one room) and not suspect a thing. At all times. Keep the door locked (front and to the bedroom) always locked.

FLIR is not an issue unless your equipment heats up the entire apartment. It cannot see through walls or else we would all be fucked.

Exactly, it sees where you vent and where you have a weak link to the outside, like a window or a poorly insulated attic or wall.
If you can keep the ambient temperatures relative to the rest of the dwellings then you have no problem. If your room is over 90 degrees and the rest of the house is 70 degrees then FLIR would likely show that wall as a hot spot.

I know that large grows demand it, but I am 100% against having a partner if you can handle the grow workload. Unless you are going to do more than one room, or you work 50 hours a week at a traditional job, you can do the grow by yourself and do not need a partner.

I agree with the post above. If you have the money and space to start the grow, tell your partner that you scrapped the plan and start over by yourself.

I would invest in YOUR OWN PLACE!. I know you want good information but this is it. Save save save live on your own and do what you want. It's very hard with room-mates. But I would def build your room around your Carbon filter. Work from there down. Smell is one of the biggest isseus. Be safe take it easy..

Thermal shield is a rip off. If you heat anything long enough it will rise to that temp. If you contain the heat in your grow area you may as well not grow.

insulate the room you'll be using with 2" thick insulation board (blue/pink board).

Stiff enough you can cut it to just snap into the height of your wall so that you don't use anything to attach it. It's even tongue and groove so that you get a good seal Is the ceiling exposed to the roof or another floor above it? If you've got a roof right over the room, line the ceiling with the foam board as well. Get it up there and use a couple boards to keep it there while you stand up the walls. Walls hold up the top, just like they do with drywall. You can get 10' long sheets of the board, so it will probably only need 1 sheet wide for a majority of apartment bedrooms. Be kinda fun I think...

That shit's like R45 or something like that. If an 80 degree room lined with that stuff and that's being vented already into the rest of the house to equalize the temps a bit shows up the FLIR real bright I'd be suprised.
