Secret Jardin 2.5 WARNING !!

Hi. I bought a Secret Jardin DR90 2.5 revision yesterday. I was expecting plastic corners but i opened it up to find the end pieces of the roof bars now use plastic connectors instead of the old single piece metal bars on the 2.0 version.
I'm very disappointed with this, i still can't believe these came on a £110 tent.

I'm warning people so they know to avoid if they don't want thin plastic joints holding their lights up.

People always complained about the plastic corner pieces too,but I and many others have had no problems with them.

True true, I haven't seen tents come without plastic joints in years... Unless your lights are from the 90's and your hanging your ballast up there you might see some sag, but it will hold.

I own the older version n just bought a new version. I was also disappointed
Cuz I liked the structure of the old style but the bars held 75lbs no bend so IMO job well done.

I just have no confidence in them. I've been researching for days and read too many horror stories. I'm going to have to run some string across the top to catch it if it falls, just so i can sleep at night without worrying.
I worry about them deteriorating, this seems to be the problem with plastic.

Sj is the Cadillacs of tents. Other companies are finally taking there design into there's to make good tents but for the longest time sj was the way. N still is the way.
SECRET JARDIN DARK ROOM 2-DR 90 . high quality FDA approved UV protected plastic.
One thing you have forgot is you haven't bought an eBay special tent.
The one I just junked corners all broke and bars broke. Plastic hooks not uv protected.
Your working too much. If hang a raptor in an sj no questions asked.

Here's a perfect example if tent pieces you should be worried about and avoid major difference.

I had to come up with that to hold lights up. Cuz of crap
The sj pieces look nothing close to that quiality

My hydro hut and sun hut are all steel poles. Hoods ,carbon filters and fans all hanging strong before bare bulb vertical ! And no off gassing.

And it held my old ass SunGro a/c reflector,exhaust fan and carbon filter no problem.But vert bare bulbs rule and all else drool.

I wish they were all metal. The risks are too high.
I think they're made from polypropylene.

Degradation

Polypropylene is liable to chain degradation from exposure to heat and UV radiation such as that present in sunlight.

I got a DR150 rev 2.5 a couple of months ago. I was extremely disappointed with the plastic corners and plastic crossbar hooks. They say it can hold 65 lbs but I have my doubts.

I put a couple of old reflectors with glass lenses at 20+ lbs each plus ducting and an oscillating fan and so far it has held up. So maybe it does have the strength. I won't risk throwing a filter up there tho.

Reasonably priced metal replacements would allow me to sleep better at night.

That filter in the one pic weights 60lbs full.
Light 10-20lbs.

Looks like an accident waiting to happen, if that plastic fatigues over time. Be careful.

This 'improvement' isn't mentioned on his site with all the other 2.5 improvements. I wonder why they're keeping it quiet ?

There are other problems with the 2.5 version. One batch has the connector supposed to connect to the long poles attached to the small poles. Thus the tent cannot be set up properly as the parts do not fit. The whole batch from my growshop had this problem and had to be returned. I have read about other people experiencing the same on other forums.
