second indoor grow??

well i just finished of some northern lights #5 and as before with my first indoor grow with strawberry caugh i didnt get the density i wanted or the amount of bud either. strawberry i got about 2.5 ounces off of one supercroped female this time i didnt supercrop and i just tipped two females of the nl#5 the bud was much better than the strawberry but still not dense enough and i just barely got 1 ounce out of it and the taste is still the same two green i guess ...im using a 250w hps and lots of ventilation temp is fine what am i doing wrong...p.s. ive used the same bulb for two grows just wonderin maybe if thats the prob but shouldnt two have yeilded mor than one.just wonderin thanks to any advice i can get.

Pot size = Yeild

You could use some more light as well but if you give a plant a proper place for a root system then you will see results.

You should transplant at least 4 times and if it was me i would have that 250 watt over 1 plant in a 2ft sq. area and look to finish in something like 20 liters of dirt. Go for the nice cola's so you don't top anything after 4 weeks of veg. I like to top a clone after it is rooted and has 4 healthy nodes. I usually have to top 1 or 2 of those shoots later if they are really getting ahead of the others. i get plants that look like this.


This is just 1 method that seems to work for me. I hope to get 7 OZ's off each plant. That's a 400w my last harvest i had 4 plants in there and got just over 10 OZ's

and that was only a 12 liter pot i now have 2 25 liter pots so i am anxious to see if the buds do get any denser/heavier 4 weeks to go.

really hard to say why your yield isnt up to par for you

you say ya have a 250w hps right on how close to the plants tops is this lighting ??

soil or hydro if soil what type
how many plants
container size used
ferts if any used what type dossage and how often used ??

you say temps are ok right on what are they ???

in the desert espically when summer comes tis best to run lighting at night helps keeps temps down 4sure. i run my flower cab at night yr round 6pm-6am
veg/mother/clone erea i run 6am-12am midnight. 1 run a 400w hps cab in the mohave desert at night and veg with upto 280w in cfl's during day lol currently its 205w he he.

i can pull 21-28 grams of nice dense nugs n/p from a 2 liter soda bottle using fox farm ocean forrest soil and the nutes i use.

pure blend pro grow in veg for flower i loose the pbp grow and introduce indoneasion guano and budswell from 4wks on i slam them lol upto 2-3 waterings before chop. i allways add my nutes then PH adjust the water @6.5 i feed ferts every other watering


the above up front main top is a urkel x strawberry desiel cross straw d pheno 21 days of 12/12 in the back ground left is the urkel phenos .

yeah i was using two 1gallon pots and the 250watt is about 1foot above the tops of the plants, also it seems that the flowering time is always longer than im quoted for that breed or pheno...out doors ive have plenty of success but indoor im having these issues...also lower bud development on these is poor at best. here is how my grow box is set up, i made my own ventilated hood for my light i have a remote ballast so that doesnt make to much heat space blanket for reflector and i run this at night so it stays mid 70's to 80 degrees celsius. no nutes just perfect mix soil.

also i wanted to put glass on my hood for the light but im worried regular window glass will shatter because of heat...is this so or can i use window pane to do it.

your problem could have come from alot of things. genetics being the biggest one that comes to mind. also they are right about pot size especially with soil. ive heard of people getting massive yeilds out of a 1 gallon pot but they were using other mediums such as coco. its better to say root mass = yeild. nutrients could be and more light will give u denser nugs. if ud decide to stay with the 250w you should be using techniques that cater to it poor penetratvice depth. scrog and lst might help you problem.

I've used 2 liter bottles the last 3 years, well ever since I started growing weed indoors in 2003-2004. I don;t cut, top or LST and I get 1.5-2 oz per plant. I use a little fertilizer, but nothing too special. I would move up to 1-2 gallon pots if I had the space, but my box is 4x4x3 feet in measured space and only supports 3-4 plants, and theres just not enough room.

i dunno why i cant get the yield i need then it seems no matter what i do the buds are either to loose or to few, im using perfect mix potting mix and not ferts....plant growth is good and budding seems good but yeild keeps sucking. and i looked at my root balls left in the pots from the harvested plants and the roots didnt even fill the soil. what could cause such shitty root growth...man how are u getting so much out of two liters...

im using perfect mix potting mix and not ferts....

i havent seen this soil but i suggest fox farm ocean soil from the hydro shop i suggested in the PM is 14.95 a bag great stuff. maybe grab a bag of mexican bat guano 8$ for veg and some indoneasion guano 8$ a bag and bag of bud swell 8$ for flower, you'll see a better yield. the FFOF soil has plenty of nutes to sustain the plant n/p 2-3 wks the guanos can burn your plants if used to strong i start out 1/4-1/2 dossage on the guanos i havent made teas w/em. but add them as soil top dressing then water into the soil i slam my plants full strength w/indo and budswell guano last 3 - 4 wks of flower but thats me. also my plants to get guanos untill 3-4wks flower i like a nice green garden untill 4 wks into flower then i really dont care plants are on the road to chop.


Co2 will help but you'll still need to fert the plants when they've exhausted all the nutrients in the soil they'll feed off themselves. they need nutrients plant must eat when growen in a container indoors
