well i just switched to an organic fert that ive never used.
couldnt be happier! great healthy, green and bushy plants!
sizes vary from 18-20'' after only 21 days.

well heres the thing i just switched to 12/12
and that beeing said i also switched my formula.
its a 5-10-5 mix with ingrediants such as

fish solubles, feathermeal and seaweed extracts.
so the first 5 gals i mixed i noticed a small amount of a seaweed or algee type substance floating around. i was thinking my molasses might of went bad. then i mixed my 2nd 5 gal - mixed the mol. first and noticed nothing.
turns out whatever this substance is its in the fert.

DAMNIT!!!!!
i just checkked my veg formula and it also contains these ingrediance!!!!
FUCKKKKKKKKKKK!
man i just fucking watered..
wow this post just toook a turn for the worse i was hoping someone had experience with this seaweed business.

i think im fucked. :cuss:

are your plants doing anything diffrent since the change?
is there an expo. date on the bottle?
Seaweed is a great sorce of trace min., but I don't think you should be seeing anything floating around.

What you're probably seeing are the bits of kelp (kelp meal actually) that have been reconstituted and somehow floated to the surface.

It's no big deal. I'm not sure why you're as concerned as you are. Seaweed products (extracts, kelp meal, cold-process extraction seaweed mixes, et al.) are extremely important in organic/transitional agriculture.

I mix kelp meal in my soil mix always. I mix kelp meal teas to use with every watering. Plants are sprayed with the same tea 3 or 4 times per week.

Seaweed provides far more to a plant's growth and overall health than micro-nutrients - things like auxins (plant hormones), growth enhancers, etc. There is a ton of information out there that you can peruse.

Again - what is your general/primary concern?

well my main concern is theres some algee lookin shit floatin in there.
and my veg formula has those same main ingrediants but its got nothing like that in there..
no exporation date on the bottle. and last night was the first time i fed them this formula.. checked this morning and no ill effects (but then again i wouldnt think it could show any signs of trouble that soon)

i just want to know if anyone else has seen anything like this.

Organic nutes can be sensitive to heat and expiration dates etc
The organic soil conditions will quickly eleminate any non-aerobic nasties like algea, even if it isn`t algea the soil biology wil break it down and munch on it anyway.

Seaweed will be in every organic fert you look at, it`s essential for micronutrients and especially K and growth hormone.

I don`t think it will affect your grow in any way.

Peace

yea well not using an organic soil mix just some regular ass shit.
so if it you dont think it could cause harm what about the "algee" depleting the nutrients in the mix??
