2008 Theme: Industrial Hemp, and what it can do for America.
OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
To educate the public on the myriad of potential benefits offered by the Cannabis plant, including the medicinal, industrial, agricultural, economic, environmental, and other benefits and applications, including domestic industrial hemp production and commerce. In particular, Seattle Hempfest seeks to advance the cause of Cannabis policy reform through education, while advancing the public image of the Cannabis advocate or enthusiast through example.

Layzie and the crew put on a good show. Literally everyone was smoking the entire time...and its FREE. Hempfest rules.

i just got home a little bit ago... had a good time.

Police presence was very low, and they didn't try anything all night from what I could see. Really large attendance, some really good panel speakers, (about medicinal use, legality, mythbusting, commercial hemp uses, etc.) pretty good music, good food... it was fun.

Go Seattle Hempfest!admit we are pretty lucky here. I never have a problem walking around pike street market area with a joint.).

I did forget my camera unfortunately, but I had my phone. Check out my gallery for a few pics. I took nothing that can do the scope of the event justice, but I think if you check out hempfest-dot-org they'll have photos from the event. You guys have any fun Hempfest stories?
It is a chill convention, however, it always makes me nervous heading through the "bag searches" before you enter.... As far as I have seen they NEVER confiscate pieces or herb, they are just looking for alcohol and weapons. This year I spilled my bubbler and it's dirty water on the table when I pulled it out so they could look in my bag for a knife, but I'd already put that in my pocket.
I love that convention. There is just so much to do. I actually walked the place 7 entire times today... my legs are dying. I also met Ed Rosenthal at his booth during a break. We had a bit of conversation, but I still can't believe that I forgot to ask him about the newer strain named after him (ERSB).
Last year I went as well. I had a close, but chill brush with the law. I was chilling with Jack Herer, and two of the stage managers right next to main stage. As we stood in the 4 way smoke circle, each with a puff into the jang, I saw Jack's eyes light up past me and as I was about to spin around, a hand was placed and my shoulder. I turned my head, and saw that it was a cop holding my shoulder. He politely asked us to step off the cement trail. I said "Not a problem" he walked away and we blazed the reest of the joint in bliss.

I saw these guys smoking a 1-2 oz joint and charging $5 a hit. One guy had to hold it up from the bottom with a magazine and only the top half was burning...lol

man it was fucking hot on saturday. I dipped out right after the 4:20 sesh.

It was a fun filled day. I got a good deal on a new bong, and was kicked down a bag of shelled hemp seeds (Tastes like almonds).

hempfest was sick this year. huge attendance. i think the largest hempfest ive ever been too. hot as shit. people, i saw ed rosenthal, i saw layzie bone, met and got jack herer to sign my book (see pics below). then at the end of the day my wife started coming down with a migraine. i was on the hunt for some tga jars. she found them for me. and who happend to be chillin in the kut. but MR Subcool him self. now ive read alot of shit about the man and his "polyhybrids" but any negitive words ive read went right out the window, when i mentioned i had some of his gear(jacks cleaner II is the fire). i was greeted by sub with a huge hug and some really kind words. we shot the shit. talked about growing and the boards. his strains. lalalalala in the end he ended up hooking me up with a vile of jacks cleaner 2/ purple urkle/ snodawg glycerin... my wife said she has never had migraine relief as good as the glycerin. so big thanks to TGA crew and Sub himself. that pretty much ended our trip to Seattle. thanks for all who showed up and partied. if youve never made it out for it im sure the last pick will make u wish u were there.

This fest was pretty damn productive. Didn't burn one with jack or get into a argument with Ed Rosenthal like I did last year. I asked around, everyone thinks he is a prick. But One of the douchebag local drug dealers, I mean one of the heads of a local clinic/co-op had a cool little I-Vapor thing at his booth. I smoked some 2 month cure Dogshit and some 1 month cure Trinity out of it. Fucking amazing. I am for sure gonna get one once they work out some kinks. (I never buy a product when it first comes out).

The best was right by the Hemposium there was a Drunk ass guy who was with the fest. Just vomiting and chugging Steel Reserve and yelling at potheads. I don't know if it was SUPPOSED to be hilarious, but I thought it was.

Is anyone going down to the Olympia one? That one is always WAAAAAAY better as far as atomsphere and smoke. Less schwag and members of the Juggalo Army. I swear I could die happy knowing I will never have to see another ICP jearsey.

I love Seattle Hempfest, this year was my second trip, damn there were ALOT of people! Since Ive lived here all my life, amazing that Ive only gone twice.
