Man seriously burned making hash oil
The Monterey County Herald
A man suffered serious burns to his face on Wednesday from a fire that broke out while
he was cooking hash oil outside a Seaside home, a fire official said.
The man was airlifted to a San Francisco Bay Area hospital.
Hash oil is a marijuana by-product extracted from
parts of the plant that are often discarded.
Seaside fire Battalion Chief Chris Reitenour called Wednesday's
incident "basically a repeat" of what happened in Santa Cruz.
The fire occurred in the 1000 block of Carson Street.
Firefighters kept it from spreading to the house and extinguished it within 10 minutes.
