in my country , possibly same as yours ,, that warrant to search premises will include everywhere , in the walls , under the floor , wherever they think theres something hidden ...
a lock certainly will not stop them ....

Yep, my brother law had fridge sized safe. They came and said open it or we will have it cut open. Raid wasn't even for him.. it was for his roommate. Then they took his safe even though they didn't find anything in it (sans wallet/birth cert, etc) It took him months to get it back and when he did it was all fucking scratched and dinged.

W/o a family friend who was a lawyer it would have been in some pigs home office i'm sure. They can and will take/trash/seize whatever they feel like.

safes aren't good against LEO. Only good against thieves.

Oh they came equipped. They cut it from the floor and had a huge dolly they had just for items like this. They broke doors on the interior of the home that weren't even locked. They were just fucking up the place cuz they could. If they want it, they'll have it no matter what you do.

actualy i believe that if they get a warrant for the house and there is a safe in it. If there is a lock on it they have to get another warrant to open that safe.

what is the scope of the warrant? does it include items that might reasonably be found within a safe?

usually the filth are smart enought to include things in warrants that could be found within a safe or any other small space like a cabnet or lock box, like "instrumentalities or proceeds of crime" but it really depends on the warrant. get a lawyer and say nothing to nobody.

Yes they can, your better off just opening it when they ask. Because if you refuse then they get either a tech-team or firefighters to crack it. Theres no reason to ruin a good safe. Just let them in sighn the warrent and open it up. If not they will just destroy it for no reason. Safes are expensive and they can be reused.

I'm no attorney, but if it's in a residence they have a warrant for then yes.

I'm not a lawyer either, however i am 95% sure a search warrant has to state what they are looking for, and it can't just be "search everything inside the house"

for example, "search warrant for so and so's basement, as it's allegeded he is growing marijuana there"

This would not give them any right to search a locked safe upstairs in a bedroom.... or a bedroom at all for that matter.

I could be wrong, ive never been served a search warrant, i just rememebr reading they have to be more specific than that.

If the warrant states the entire residence then they can and will search the safe if what they are looking for could fit inside. They can search walls, floorboards and anything else they choose, as long as it's within the scope of the warrant....

IDK about that one. they came for my buddy in an appartment. cops were 9 deep. busted in and found all he had was a joints worth. they refused to belive that was it. the search warrant was for selling and poss. He had no scale and a joint....so where do they search? besides destroying the appt. everyone of his cd cases was opened and checked. now, honestly how much weed can you fit in a cd case? not enough where leo should be involved.

not reallly about safes i guess, just know they can search EVERYTHING!

just make sure you keep a minimal amount in there. and if you havent figured out a way to hide or launder it yet you better do so quickly.

Anything in the house is fair game. Also if you have any type of cash, expensive electronics, expensive jewelry, anything thats worth money (even antiques) they can seize them. Only if they can prove that they were't purchased with legal money. Also in most search warrents your car is also subject to search. Usually a search warrant means everything on the property. Even if you have hidden money burried in your lawn. But I have heard of police comming to an apartment or home in which multiple people live and only serch the room of the suspect. Also sometimes this happens with minors. The police show up and search the minors room and not the whole house.
