Harness the power of the sea, the most diverse place on earth! This excerpt is from a provider of pure sea minerals (living sea salt). There are many ways to obtain high quality salts, not just the website where this came from. ANY unprocessed, natural, sun-dried, sea salt (harvested from an actual ocean) will do. I use Celtic Sea Salt. Seaweed can also be used this way with fantastic results (do not wash off the salt). But i want to attribute all the data in this excerpt to the owner and writers of it as well; they can be found at www.seaagri.com I thoroughly believe in their data and concepts, and I post this info to you guys out of my heart and soul. This applies to your foods as well. "All the worlds problems can be solved in a garden." ~ Geoff Lawton

Q. What is SEA-90 and how is it produced?

A.
SEA-90 sea mineral solids are natural crystals produced through solar dehydration of H20 from sea water contained in retention ponds. SEA-90 differs from all other mineral sea salt currently on the market because it is created from a sea considered to be one of the most mineral-rich and pollution-free on earth, in an arid environment where temperatures continually exceed 100 degrees F with an annual rainfall of less than one-half inch. SEA-90 is not mined from the remnants of an ancient dried sea bottom where leaching inevitably occurred and decreased the number of periodic table elements. SEA-90 is produced twice each year from fresh sea water that naturally floods our estuary. The following pictures were taken in August 2008 when we received our most recent supply of sea water. During the past four years, SeaAgri worked diligently to perfect the capture and production of the highest quality sea mineral solids avaialble. In 2009, we anticipate the ability to supply five million tons of SEA-90 to our customers globally.

Q. What is the difference between
SEA-90 and other sea water products currently offered to growers?

A.
Many companies sell sea water to farmers and hydroponic growers for foliar application for as much as $80 per gallon with instructions to dilute to 1/100 prior to application. By dissolving seven ounces of S
EA-90 in one gallon of water sea water is created for less than $ .50. If these other sea water products are super concentrated to 10 times normal sea water, the cost of the same SEA-90 solution is still less than $5. Some sea water companies claim SEA-90 is inferior due to the heat generated during solar dehydration. On the contrary, marine biologists advise SeaAgri that common ocean algae is regenerated and becomes live when SEA-90 is dissolved in water. Other sea water salespeople state that SEA-90 contains pollutants because it is created with coastal water. At this time, SeaAgri's SEA-90 is the only sea mineral product that claims and provides university lab data results as pollution free. Some sea water companies claim to be organic or organic certified--a claim and certification that does not exist. SEA-90 is listed as approved on the NOP USDA products list as sea salt and is OMRI Listed for the organic production of crops and livestock. SeaAgri is dedicated to providing the agricultural community with the best, purest and most cost effective sea mineral product possible.

Q. What is the difference between
SEA-90 and other mineral salts for livestock that claim to originate from the sea?

A.
Several companies sell mineral salts for animal consumption and call their product sea salt. However, their source is an ancient sea buried beneath the earth's surface millions of years ago. Due to the age of these deposits and leaching by ground water during millions of years since their creation, their minerals and trace elements are not perfectly balanced and are significantly reduced in number from that of sea water and S
EA-90. The mineral and trace element balance, ratios, and content of SEA-90 is essentially the same as the sea water from which it is created. No minerals or trace elements are leached away. SEA-90 is the only true sea salt used in agriculture.

Q. Is
SEA-90 exactly the same as Dr. Murray’s Sea Solids?
A. Yes, Dr. Murray disclosed the location of the mineral deposits to Robert Cain of SeaAgri in 1979, and sent him there to arrange for importation. Robert returned to the same location in 2003 and 2005 and once again arranged for importation of the Sea Solids, which are now called SEA-90. The mineral composition of the seawater in the Sea of Cortez has not changed in the past 50 years and there is no industry or pollution present so we feel confident SEA-90 is exactly the same as Dr. Murray used in his experiments.

Q. Does
SeaAgri have a mineral analysis available for SEA-90?
A. Yes, the University of Georgia conducted an analyses in 2003, 2005, and again in 2007. (more info)

Q. Is
SEA-90 approved for use in organic agriculture?
A. Yes, SEA-90 is a natural mined, unprocessed and nonsynthetic mineral, and is listed by the USDA as organic sea salt and by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in production of organic food and fiber.

Q. How much
SEA-90 should I apply to my garden, cropland or pasture?
A. SeaAgri works closely with each of our customers to determine the application rates for their particular crop and soil type. Please refer to our application rates web page. (more info)

Q. Why are the trace elements contained in
SEA-90 important?
A. Trace elements, usually less than one-tenth of one percent, exert powerful influences far beyond their quantity. Scientific understanding of the role of trace elements in plant and human physiology is new and emerged slowly during the last century. It is known that 16 trace elements have critical biological functions, but many more are suspected to play a role in cellular function and molecular design. (more info Murray Olarsch)

Q. Why doesn’t the salt, sodium chloride, in SEA-90 harm the soil and crops?
A. As a result of extensive research, Dr. Murray discovered that soil microbiological activity and plant growth and development is enhanced when the concentration of sodium chloride in seawater derived SEA-90 is applied at specific rates and in specific dilutions as a foliar spray and in hydroponic solutions. (more info)

Q. How does SEA-90 differ from common salt?
A. Common table salt is pure white crystals of highly refined sodium chloride. SEA-90 is dehydrated seawater in its purest state. It is not a single metal salt but a mixture of 90+ elements in the sea’s perfect proportions. The lightest elements (sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium) are totally balanced with the trace elements (copper, chromium, zinc, manganese, selenium, cobalt, molybdenum, etc, etc).

Q. How does
SEA-90 differ from rock powders?
A. All mineral salts originate in rock. However, a rock powder that contains the full spectrum of elements found in the sea does not exist. SEA-90 as dehydraded sea water is water-soluble. As a result, all nutrients available in mineral rich sea water are immediately available to soil life and plants. Therefore, SEA-90 is more mineral and trace element rich. Unlike rock powders SEA-90 can be utilized as a foliar spray.

Q. Can
SEA-90 be used in hydroponics production?
A. Yes, Robert Cain created hydroponics formulas under Dr. Murrays guidance utilizing both seawater and SEA-90. The formulas are available to advocates of “Sea Energy Agriculture”. (more info)

Q. Was Dr. Murray awarded patents for his research?

A. Yes, copies of his expired patents are available through SeaAgri.com more info: (Hydroponics) (Sea Solids)
Q. Were the mineral beds destroyed by a flood of the Colorado River during the 1980’s that deposited a foot of silt over the deposits?
Endless%20Supply%20Resized.jpg

A. It is true that the beds were flooded and covered by silt in the 1980’s, but with no lasting or detrimental effects on the mining of sea minerals. Dr. Murray chose this site for several reasons. The Sea of Cortez is one of the richest seas on earth with regard to marine life and mineral composition. Over time, trillions of tons of mineral-rich top soil from the Colorado River were deposited into the Sea of Cortez. In addition, geo-thermal vents at the bottom of the sea along the fault line that divides the Baja from the mainland of Mexico constantly add even more minerals and trace elements. The mine area, at one foot below sea level, floods several times every year. SEA-90 is created in a totally natural, unpolluted environment that is one of the driest on earth. Since this area receives less than one inch of rainfall (no leaching) with average temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit, dehydration occurs very quickly preserving biological life. Every three months a new deposit is ready for collection. SeaAgri mines SEA-90 from these newly created deposits to insure its purity and optimum mineral composition.

Q. Does SEA-90 always APPEAR the same?

A. No,
SEA-90 is pure dehydrated seawater created naturally in a desert estuary by tidal movements. Therefore, color variations occur based on the speed of currents and tides moving the water and wind conditions. The color of SEA-90 varies from pure white to various shades of beige, and at times contains small amounts of wind-carried sediment.

Q. Why does SEA-90 appear to act as a pesticide and fungicide when used as a foliar spray?

A.
In our world, insects and diseases play important roles. They are attracted to weak and sick organisms and destroy them. The weak and sick are killed off and the healthy and strong are left to reproduce, thereby, improving the gene pool. When
SEA-90 is applied as a foliar spray to a plant's leaf surface and/or incorporated into the soil, the plant metabolizes many of the 90 plus minerals and trace elements into its sap or fluid. Once these minerals and trace elements are incorporated into the plant's chemistry, the plant becomes healthier and its sap or fluid becomes infinitely more complex. Insects and fungal diseases, due to their simple physiology, cannot digest this complex mixture. Therefore, they leave these plants alone and attack and destroy the weaker plants without the complex chemistry. This could explain why plants that exhibit a higher Brix reading are less prone to insect and disease problems. Another reason SEA-90 might be effective as a foliar spray in combating insects and diseases is that the NaCl acts as a desiccant, thereby, directly interacts with insects and fungus causing it to die back due to lack of available moisture.

Q. What is the difference between SeaAgri's product SEA-90 and other sea water products commonly sold at organic agricultural conferences?

A.
There are many companies that sell sea water products. They are affiliated with us only through their promotion of utilizing minerals from the sea in agriculture. The cost of bottled ocean water is approximately $50-$100 per gallon. Our product,
SEA-90, contains all the minerals and trace elements found in the sea in a naturally dehydraded, water soluable crystal form. You can recreate one gallon of mineral rich sea water by dissolving less than $1.00 worth of SEA-90 in one gallon of water. Some companies also claim that SEA-90 is inferior because it can only be applied to the soil, whereas their product is applied foliarly at a significantly reduced cost. SEA-90 can be dissolved and applied foliarly at a rate of 2.5-3.5 pounds per acre costing between $2 and $3 per acre--significantly less than ocean water. Bottled sea water companies also claim that sea water is better because biological life is still present. However, we found that when SEA-90 is dissolved in water, biological life from the sea returns to the solution. SEA-90 is unique because you have numerous delivery options available in your efforts to remineralize your soil, crops and livestock. Choose one or more that fit your application needs and budget.

Q. What is Ocean Trace and how does it differ from SEA-90 or "sea solids."

A.
Ocean Trace is a sea mineral product that is available through our website. Another name for this type of solution is "bitterns", and it is created naturally during the production of SEA-90 (sea solids). At our mine, we create beds of sea salt as the bases of our rentention ponds. We then flood the retention ponds with fresh sea water. As the ponds heat up in the 100 degree F temperatures, the sodium choride crystallizes and rises or blooms carrying minerals and trace elements to the surface of the sea water. This process is quite colorful and very beautiful to witness. The sea solids, SEA-90, solidifes from the surface down so there is always moisture below. We allow the sea solids to form until there is a thin layer of moisture so we can easily harvest sea solids from the area without disturbing the sea salt base in the retention pond. This layer of moisture is "Bitterns" (the Mother Liquor) that was used for natural healing for centuries. If you want more information, you can purchase the "Sea Salt's Hidden Powers" from ACRES USA. This book explains the process in detail. You can creat your own Bitterns once you have SEA-90. Take 10 lbs in a canvas bag and submerge in water. Then hang to dry and collect the drippings that are Bitterns. The Asians call this product Nagari and use it to create Tofu.

Q. I planned to dissolve SEA-90 and apply foliarly, but when I tried to dissolve 50 pounds in a 50 gallon drum, it did not dissolve. Can you help?
A.This is a common problem with a simple answer, “add more water”. Remember SEA-90 is dehydrated sea water as sea solids in nature’s perfect balance. Five ounces SEA-90 dissolved in one gallon water recreates pure seawater. That is essentially the same as one pound SEA-90 in three gallons of water. If the ratio of salt to water is greater, then a super saline solution is created and the solids stop going into solution or dissolving. The sea maintains perfect mineral balance due to the fact that whenever any element is present in excess it precipitates out of solution or falls to the bottom of the sea. Another factor to consider is the hardness and salinity of your water source. Hard water contains more minerals and therefore accepts less SEA-90 in solution. The harder your water, the more minerals present. Therefore, you might find that you can only dissolve one pound in four or five gallons of water. We suggest conducting a test in a white five gallon bucket of your water. Add one pound of SEA-90 and dissolve it completely. Then add more SEA-90 one-half pound at a time

Q. In his research trials, Dr. Murray applied sea solids (SEA-90) as a broadcast fertilizer and incorporated it into the soil. Now you are suggesting we dissolve SEA-90 and spray it onto our crops. Should we spray onto the soil prior to planting or onto the crops as during the growing season, and can we expect the same results?

A.
Dissolving SEA-90 and applying in solution as a foliar spray is a new application method that gained momentum this past year due to the research many of our customers conducted on their farms and gardens. The results are outstanding, and the cost of application averaging less than $1.50 per acre for most ranchers and farmers is very exciting coupled with the results. Foliarly applying SEA-90 remineralizes the plant from the top down rather than from the ground up. We believe that remineralization through broadcast application is the best long term fix for our soils. However, foliar applications offer a significantly lower cost alternative for many farmers and gardeners during this time of rising fuel costs plus accomplishes the remineralization of soils and increases the nutrient density of the forage, fruits or vegetables. It was stated that mineral foliar sprays can move up to one foot per hour in the plant's vascular system when applied at the proper time (late afternoon to sundown) when the stomata are wide open. Pasture grasses can supply up to 100 elements if they are available in the soil. By foliar applying SEA-90 sea minerals to pasture grasses as a foliar spray the grass is bathed in 92+ elements increasing the nutrient density to maximum levels. Many of our customers report that livestock grazing on pastures enriched with foliar application of SEA-90 refuse all mineral supplements as long as the livestock have that pasture grass to forage. An organic vegetable grower reported that he raised the Brix reading on his tomatoes from three to 10 with only foliar application. We know that some of the spray reaches the soil along with the plant matter as it decays to provide the elements and trace minerals to soil life and eventually enriching the soil.

Application Information

SeaAgri, inc. intends to provide SEA-90 to ranchers, farmers and gardeners as cost effectively as possible. Since 2004, when SeaAgri, inc. first began operations, additional application methods were developed that include liquid row support, banding and foliar spraying. For your convenience, SeaAgri, inc. formulated application rates with water soluble SEA-90 for the various application methods. As a reminder, SeaAgri always recommends soil tests to determine elemental balances. If high sodium in your soil is a problem, SeaAgri, inc. recommends foliar applications only.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the application rates, please contact us at [email protected].

Foliar Application Instructions

Foliar Sprays
SEA-90 sea minerals can be used alone and/or mixes well with most water soluble fertilizers. It can be added to any foliar spraying program as a mineral and trace element source, organic insecticide and fungicide. Add fish emulsion as a nitrogen source, and humate (per manufacturer recommendations), and one pound cane sugar per acre, plus dish soap or surfactant to increase effectiveness. SEA-90 might contain small amounts of sediment. Therefore, prior to adding dissolved SEA-90 to spray tank, we suggest mixing desired amount with water, allow sediment to settle, and filter if necessary.

Foliar Feed for all Vegetable Crops
Gardeners: Mix one teaspoon SEA-90 per gallon, and apply until runoff every 7-14 days.
Farmers: Apply 2.5 pounds dissolved in 20 gallons of water per acre every 14 days; 15 pounds per acre per season.

Foliar Feed for Pasture Grasses, Alfalfa, etc.
Apply 3 to 5 pounds dissolved in 20 gallons of water per acre at greening-up stage and after each cutting; 15 pounds per season.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the application rates, please contact us at [email protected].

So really what you are telling people is to talk a walk down to the beach with a pail and bring home a gallon of sea water. Then mix it 1/1000 with fresh water and poof! Your good in your hydro setup?

Ya, I will take you up on that and see what happens with a clone just to prove a point either way. Hell if it works why would those people that live close to the oceans not just get it for free rather then paying for it?

I really think that if this was as good as the PR far more would be jumpin all over it, do you not think so as well?

If it sounds too good to be true as the old saying goes........

If you guys want, I will tour around the world with you digging rain harvesting swales and fertilizing with only a little bit of sea water. or sea salt. or seaweed. seaweed grows like 4 ft in a day? We show starving people that even the desert can be re-greened. Like Egypt once was or many other forests that are now arid deserts. Starving people around the world can start growing their own food. This is life, the way it was meant to be lived. We are caretakers of the Earth, and it can provide EVERYTHING for us if you only look, listen and learn from her.

I read fertility from the ocean deep and have yet to read sea energy agriculture

what I did get was Murray was very specific to where to get sea solids, would this company pass Murray's test?

Do these people have tests showing yearly results with analysis of element content?

I believe these people are cashing in on Murray's framework, and do not fully understand his true meaning to studying this.. these people are not doing research on sea solids, or wanting the real end result why he started researching sea solids... I suggest anyone to read the books above, and form your own opinion

Good luck on getting any company to offer a complete elemental analysis....mostly what you'll get is just talk. Once you learn a bit about products like this from sources like these you'll understand yearly tests are not necessary.

Habeeb, No I don't think they are misrepresenting anything. I think these people were closely affiliated with Dr. Murray. Besides, the point to this thread is that ANY naturally and properly harvested sea salt (sea water evaporated by sun) Will suffice. "Sea Solids," salt minerals, and sea salt are all virtually the same. Seaweed is also another viable source as it shares a similar mineral composition as sea water itself.

Yes they are misreprensenting...
For starters water cannot hold over a certain % of minerals otherwise they start to drop out (crystallize). What happens in the Salton Sea area is no different in what happens in areas like the Brittany coast where they make Celtic salt in open dehydration ponds. The whole leaching thing is a bit of BS.

It's pretty simple...this company can easily back up their statements by posting test results...which they don't. Typical marketing crap IMO. I can virtually guarantee you that test results will not back up their claim.

I totally agree. The whole Sea Solids thing is a bit of a joke IMO. Basically what we're dealing with here is plain and simply true sea salt whether produced fresh from sea water or from ancient sea deposits.

all this has been thoroughly discussed in my thread...

IMO sea minerals has nothing but major benefits...

NOYB what they are referring to is sea salt that has been mined after it has been sitting for thousands and thousands of years, as opposed to freshly evaporated sea water. Leeching through underground water tables probably could effect the product, and the micro-organisms might not be able to reanimate after all that time. Besides, this product is actually cheap, a good price. Celtic Sea Salt costs me $13 a pound. This stuff costs $25 for 10 pounds delivered to my house. If you have a cheaper resource of real sea salt let me know.

I think Sea-90 is a good product for agriculture if you wanna use a salt and probably the least expensive. The leaching thing does not happen like that. Look into the mines a bit more. One of the largest in the world for this type of salt is in Pakistan. It's a huge, solid thick vein. IME the 'claim' that some essentials are leached out is simply not true. Part of that is simply marketing to differentiate their product more. As for the microlife thing I wouldn't look to a salt product for that.

What about all the sodium chloride? I'm confused why that issue hasn't come up....
Sure...over use of salt in/on soil will make it unsuitable for growing. A little is a good thing and studies have proven that. One was done in Italy on tomatoes and nutritional content using, I believe it was, diluted sea water.

Interesting study they did once about salt. They gave ants a choice between a cotton ball soaked in sugar water and another soaked in a weak salt solution. Ants that lived greater than about 60 miles from the ocean went for the salt soaked cotton ball.

I know some peeps that deal with Sea-Crop distribution and they told me the difference between growing with Sea-Crop compared to without was like night and day.

Okay now I don't live around a salty sea, but there are salt mines and from what I have seen salting the earth helps NOTHING grow. It tends to sanitize from what I have seen, not quite sure what is to much or just right. I probably can see that this lake you built, might be a waste of money. Maybe it works out, I'd bet lot's of things get dissolved but man salt isn't something I'd feel like throwing in the nutrient mix.

Just keep it simple, there are retards like me that inspire to break the law!

Yeah it can be a problem. Back in like '93 worked in a US company that was looking at distributing an Aussie developed product that was supposed to help in the reclamation process. Was a 3 part product program. This link gives you a general idea what they were/are dealing with...

I guess its all about proportions?

from wiki:
Salting the earth refers to the practice of spreading salt on fields to make them incapable of being used for crop-growing. This was done in ancient times at the end of some wars as a punitive measure.

Hey BurmeseDragon,

That salt issue is an interesting one.. I made a complex compost tea and had it tested.
Since I had used throwaway vegetables from the grocery store as the backbone of the compost I was curious how it measured up.
It seemed high in sodium.
I used it anyway and it was good for the plants.. I don't know if it added something to the microherd or not.. Too much and it had a negative effect on the plants.

So maybe there is something to a little or the right kind and something bad to too much?
???
