Hello everybody.
First off thank you for the immense amount of knowledge so many of you have provided me the last few months. I have been lurking and reading everything I could and now it's time to put myself out there in the quest for more knowledge.
In the next few weeks I will be building a 22x24 foot 12 foot tall workshop. I want it to be sealed as best I can and want any ideas on an affordable way to do this. I looked into spray foam but 10 Grand and a stranger on my Farm make me nervous. I was going to go with an envelope of vinyl siding, OSB outside, Tyvek wrap, studs and cavity edges filled with spray foam and then just regular fiberglass bats. Now I am unsure as to whether or not to the use plastic or another layer of Tyvek so that it breathes on the interior covering the studs. I will then be sheeting the interior with plywood.
I would also like to leave the joists exposed and think I can seal up the rafters using the same spray foam in the edges of the cavities and fiberglass technique I used on the walls. I would love anyones feedback on if this would be sufficiently sealed and if there's any better way of going about this project.
