Sealed Room Q????

Hello IC et al,

Im looking to setup a sealed room, with a significant amount of light. The dimensions of the room is 18'X8'X8', so i need to run roughly 10x600W (6000w total). My question is about heat build up from the lights and whether you think 2400btu AC for each light (total=2x12000btu mini-splitAC) would be enough for the cooling. I dont want to go down the route of using aircooled hood and tubes but keep everything completely sealed in one room. Im planing on running 30 bucket systems side by side with 3000w covering each system.

Advice needed. Cheers people.

hey running 15 x 600 air cooled and run only a 12000 btu and lookng ok so far

Hey Greenlantern - Unless operating cost isn't an issue, or you just physically cannot have aircooled, it would make a lot more sense to use proper aircooled shades with 8" ducts to cool the lights, and run a smaller more efficient cooling system. You can have the lights significantly closer to the canopy, and you will be able to control temperature fluctuations much better. If you're concerned about smell leaking, I'm not having a single bit of odor leaving my room. Just my 2 cents worth!

Flood and drain style, or what are your plans?

Good luck on your setup and grow!

Hey Green Lantern......You can cool your lights, get em WAY DOWN closer to your plants and STILL have a sealed room to run CO2 if that`s the reason for your wanting a sealed room.........You`ll be greatly surprised at how much less your a/c hasta run with major air exchange for your lights.....Stealth Sniper knows.......PEACE........DHF........ :sasmokin:

Your room would still be considered sealed if you ran ducting from outside the room through cooltubes and back out of the room.

Unless you can't have ducting out of the room?

Fuck I made a bad mistake, your green lantern not green lion!Oooooopa sorry man,you can understand though from our last communication,I was wondering why the hell you'd want advice from someone you dissed lol.Sorry again man.To give you an idea of what I do its an 8 by 8 room with 3 1K vertizontals, they are uncooled open parabolics.I have a 12,000 BTU window AC,plenty especially since I use co2 and want 85 degree temps.I beleive 3000 BTU per 1K light is just about right for uncooled hoods,of course there are other factors involved.Sorry again man I just didnt understand what was happening lol
