sealed room issues please help

So I have two rooms. Flower has a 2.5 ton mini split AC unit. Problem is apparently it doesnt work when it colder than -15c. Right now its minus 30 so I had to shut half of my lights down.

Can I just drill some holes and start bringing cold air in ? Will I need to vent if I am supplementing co2?

You can add a low ambient kit to your minisplit. There are some on the market specifically made for mini splits and are rated to work down to minus 30 degrees F.

I cant seem to find any that go down to -30. Any suggestions?

You can bring in air from outside, I'd buy a HEPA filter rated for the desired air flow and put it on an intake to prevent pests and diseases from coming in as well as a sufficiently powerful fan which is plugged into a cooling thermostat to maintain temps. You do not need to vent if you have CO2 and your room maintains temp and humidity. However it sounds like that isn't the case. I would just forego the co2 until the weather warms unless you have a controller which measures the ambient co2 concentration and allows you to dial in the co2 level. Are you using a co2 generator or cylinders?

ok thanks that answers my question about exhausting. I was hoping to only pull air into the room to cool it but with this short amount of time left on the license I need to start producing to cover my losses. I took on too much at one time

If you bring in air without exhaust you will have positive pressure and force smell through the cracks in the room

I'm guessing you're not looking to bring outside air into a sealed room. That kinda defeats the purpose of a sealed room. I run a small sealed room within my garage. If I cool the garage enough I can drop the temp in my room a pretty good amount. Maybe if there is some way you can cool an adjacent room you can drop the temp in your grow space. As far as venting with CO2, you never need to vent with CO2. Some people will tell you that you need to vent every so often. That is incorrect. As long as you have CO2 going into a sealed room, it will be fine. Also if you do decide to drill holes in your wall and expose yourself to the outside atmosphere. You should do yourself a favor and just shut the CO2 down all together. Once the room is no longer sealed, pumping CO2 in, is just flushing money down the toilet.
