Quick pic from yesterday, they started flowering a few days ago and pistils are everywhere now...
I am currently using a Himalayan & Celtic sea salt combo with small amounts of liquid guano..
Works Great in DWC!
I still have not change the PH it seems to take care of itself...
that analysis looks good which type of salt is that?
1 teaspoon a gallon for plants no more then that or you will be doing damage, start out with half and work your way up...
Half a teaspoon will be 1000ppm..
These girls are at 2400 ppm in modified waterfarms.. almost 4 weeks flower and really fat already!!!
I added 600 mg of monatomic elements last week not sure if its doin anything but these girls have gotten really fat since and are 100% organic grown with compost teas composed of sea minerals, guano and seaweed.. Its like liquid soil, i add molasses every few days and some guano to keep the bacteria lively...
Great thread! Too bad some of you got off on the wrong foot.
If you like this thread I SURE DID!- check out the TAG blog here, too.
I am currently using bubble stones/EXL mist heads/320 GPH pump on 15 min on/off timer. That was then. I now (2010) use a high pressure pump with low flow nozzles.
The funny thing is for a few weeks I have been adding a healthy pinch of Him Sea Salt and ocassionally, a squirt of Trace Minerals to my PBP- Cal Mg- Humic Acid- Fulvic Acid- Bud Swell Bloom (tea) total around 900 ppm~ pH 5.8-5.9. Just need to add a splash of H/F acid to drop it a touch.
Grown under UFO 90 with 150 watt equivalent soft white CFL added during bloom.
Will likely wind up with 3-4 ozs of one 2 ft plant. But for my next grow, I will be using TAG system (using S2G cubes). Nutes will be Sea Minerals and PBP, Fulvic/Humic Acid. At 12/12 will be adding the Bud Swell.
1/7/10: Since my original post, I am running a full high pressure/fog rig (TAG). Check out my Journal. Plants are 38 days from seed and already 10-15". As a prelim, I am running a 12/12 bubble with couple of runts in sea mins under cfls. Gonna add some Budswell tea now.
When I get another set up going, I will follow Osrica's sea min regimine. You (well I) can't argue with his results, though some seem predisposed to agrue against anything they don't understand, and yet are unwilling to experiment. Sigh!
WTF.. So interesting to run into this thread.. I have done a few experiments in the last months with Himalayan sea salts on some house plants and cuttings. Yes awesome... next idea is playing with different crystals and see what if any vibrations or frequencies can effect..
In the beginning of the thread you said it was your first grow using hydro.
You were so impressed with the explosive grow your new ferts brought right?
You do know that most people who switch from outdoors to hydro are usually blown away by the growth rate differences right?
Hydro can knock as much as 2 weeks off outdoor schedules.
I remember the first time I used bubble buckets, the growth rate seemed to be twice as fast as the soil method I previously used.
I'm sure you knew the benefits of hydro or you wouldn't have switched.
I was young once (gawd it seems like forever ago), nobody could tell me shit, I knew everything.... Some of the growers that frequent this site are the best in the world.. again... THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
Some of them may have posted in your thread, I would be hesitant to argue or consider another opinion as trolling. You obviously found a method that works good for you.
The other poster that tried the salt comparison (plant died), he was using dirt which probably needs a different feeding method. FF Ocean dirt comes with some nutes built in, using your PPM schedule was probably way too hot for such young plants. Just a thought.
All right, Imma get back to it now. Just thought I would post in your thread.
Good luck with your grow.
Yea i saw that he most definetly used too much.. i msgd him in PM to confirm this..
I myself use sea solids in my soil and it does wonders..
BrotherMonk added it to his soil mix in raw form which i have never done before..
I always measure the PPM and then water with it, this leaves no room for error...
I have NEVER had one plant die on me from Sea Minerals..
Hot peppers, tomatoes, wheatgrass, basil, coriander, several different cannabis strains the list goes on..... They all love it..
