Howdy all. Been away for a bit but I had to show you guys what I have going on here. I'm close to the tropics so I veg 'em in a hidden gully with 2 x 12v CFLs that run off deep cycle batteries. When they are up to size, I can put them outdoors away from light and they usually kick straight into flower. Daylight lengths are always close to 12/12.

I'm extremely blessed to have some top flight genetics to try out including some of Esbe's gear, woohoo. Anyway, I'll let the pics do most of the talking. Any questions or comments just holler. Cheers. BTW my "P" key is dodgy, so if any words don't make sense, just add a P, haha.

The PKs are femmed from the LV cut and anyone who followed my indoor grows, both these phenos blow the last one out of the water even at this early stage. Can't wait for these.

Here are a bunch of the Very Berry x Erdpurts, just breaking into bloom. #5 was put out to flower later than the others. I still have #1 to put out but it got left too far from the veg lights and slowly went into flower. Now I can't get it to reveg and not sure what to do, lol. It's pretty big so I'll prolly keep trying to reveg it. Damn thing will be huge but I'm thinking I can throw it in a 20 gallon smarty. Anyways, beautiful strain so far.

Here's some DPDs in a 3 gallon smart pot, and my very first hempy:

Most of 'em are in about 70% perlite, 25% coco, 5% coarse diatomaceous earth. I have a dam built and pumps and res's and stuff but I have to handwater until it rains. It keeps me fit. :) Peace out :gday:

Hi Scrub,

Nice to have you back. Your grow looks fantastic as always.

How do the 12v cfls work? Are you using an inverter?

see ya,

Wow very interesting always wanted to see a grow where the light cycle was constantly 12/12 outside. Any pics of your veg area? I am very interested to see it. Your plants are looking bomb bro keep it up.

Looks awesome and the PKs look A LOT like their mother. What are the temps and RH% for them outside? My thought is they dryer the better for crystal production :D

Thanks all for the warm welcome :)

I would like to mention that I'm not online at home yet so please excuse any brief replies or forgetful moments.

The 12v CFLs are fantastic! Just hook them straight to the battery. I had purchased a 12v timer for the old CCFL project, but couldn't get it to work. So I've got one coming any day now. As it is I have to trudge down a steep gully to connect the wires around 6:45pm, and I have a really long string, hahaha, that reaches to my bed, so I can just pull the string at around midnight-ish to turn them off.

The CFLs are cheap on ebay and are as bright as the regular CFLs watt for watt. I think my 2 lights use around 29 watts in total and that does a fair bit!!! I will get those veg "room" pics for next time.

The outdoor season starts around December I think, but I'll just be doing my thing all year round since I control the veg.

Hydrosun, I know eh! These two are sooo much different and chunkier and just more like the pics I drool over on your thread :) It's hot and humid here! I've been meaning to take note of temps and RH so I shall get on that but I think it's around 80% rh and like, pretty damn hot. Coming up to the hottest part of the year, and probably around December the wet season begins and it's solid rain for 4 months. The wet is the only thing that really puts a dent in the "perpetual" part. No indicas then.

Solar is the way to go for sure. My friend runs about as many plants as I do and he uses nearly 3000w 18 hours a day to veg them before going outside.

Boom, good to hear from ya buddy. Do you recall how many days the Dynamites take indoors? Here's some pics I didn't post from last time. The Deep chunk is in the veg room and you can see one of the batteries :)

Haha thanks mate. That helps me a lot. Helps me to realise I started flushing way too early! Ah well, I'm outta smoke so it's still all good :D

Now if anyone could give me an idea of the Very Berry x Erdpurt times, that would make my day even more, hehe. They seem pretty quick which is great for me. Till next time!

My memory could be faulty but I think that the Erdpurt are in the 60-70 day range and the very berry were 65-70 day maybe quicker, I'll have to check esbe out for a real time frame estimate

Well I've never seen the PK mold or rot. The higher the RH the airier the buds and lower crystal production. You can't do anything about RH for an outside grow; but I think this indica will surprise you even in the wet months.

Thanks muchly boom. I chopped the DPD in the smart pot today. It smells rancid in a good way. :D

Hydro, yeah I've never had much problem with mould outdoors here although I haven't grown through a heavy wet period. I believe mould is caused more by pressure anyway, but nobody believes me, lol. The PKs are looking GREAT but there is a problem. Caterpillars and lots of them. They're on everything flowering, except for the very berries which I had sprayed preventively with Spinosad. I think it's too late to go spraying now? I'm on tweezer duty when I get home....then I gotta water them all. So much work!

I took some pics of the veg area and also found some old ones of the PKs and VB's vegging, but I forgot to resize them so I can't upload yet, aaargh. Next time, sorry.

I've also put out some organic hempies of (Top 44 x Big Bud) x Erdpurt (I think), and (I think) (Leb27 x Pine Tar Kush) x Erdpurt. I won't be running organic hempies again, that's for certain.

Does anyone know what this pest is? It's not a huge problem but it would be great to identify it so I can eradicate it organically.

Till next time, grow 'em bushy and green :tiphat:

Same to you esbe, thanks, and great work!

Cheers Hairy. I think they may even be spiralling whiteflies. Loaded a bunch of pages to research it some more.

Here are the pics of the veg area. These are the PKs and Very Berry x Erdpurt mostly:

I forgot to say that for those plants, I was only using one CFL and it was the small one pictured, something like 8 or 11 watts. It's a lot brighter since I added the 2nd light - it's 18w.

Here's a few shots of the Very Berry x Erd #1 doing it's weird flower thing in veg. I think I read that Erdpurt has some autoflower tendencies so I guess maybe that's it? lol. I admitted defeat and put it out to flower yesterday so we'll see what happens.

And here is a better shot of the deep chunk cross, with the male on the left:

The caterpillars weren't too bad...I have a pretty good eye at finding the buggers. I did apply spinosad anyway on selected plants. Till next time
