Honestly, personal choice. They'll work very similarly. I use Phresh filters because that is what my store carries, and I repack them every 6mo or so. Its not a huge savings repacking vs replacing, but I think its a huge environmental waste tossing out the filters every 6mo. Takes about an hour, go slow. Don't get the mesh caught in a drill, also. It can make it take a LOT longer 
Or buy a replacement of what you have now. Being I assume you had to fab a bracket of some sort, get the same filter so its a drop in replacement.

Wow. That sounds a bit long. I change my carbon at 6-8mo and I use top quality acid washed coco charcoal. I do this because I don't want people smelling whats going on in my room, and after 6-8 or so you can start to smell 'earth'. Def not the same smell that is in the tent, at all, but I don't want people to question why my space smells like 'earth'.
Conditions will change how long it will last.. Humidity, etc. I shoot for 60% which could shorten it.

I've heard Can is the best too. I'm shocked you get so many months out of it. The fact of the matter is that it doesn't use special carbon, and only has XX weight and thus XX inches of bed. Definitely get someone else to smell it out lol. FWIW my big filter has been running for 15mo also and all you can smell is 'dirt'. Honestly we aren't sure if its from the filter/room seepage, or from the building. There is no vapor barrier under the slab, and we suspect that may be why it smells so dirt like when its moist outside.
If you're happy with your CAN, I'd go with the same. Or repack it. Win-win. If you don't repack it, I would encourage you to drill the rivets, trash the carbon, and recycle the aluminum... But I try to be as green as possible in my endeavors.

Ozone generators are definitely cool, but I wouldn't want to recirculate the air in my room with one. For a dedicated room exhaust, to OUTSIDE (not even into a garage IMO) they're legit. You do not want to breath in ozone treated air tho. Google has plenty of info on that.
I have 3 can filters. I like can filters for a few reasons. There one of the best filters you can buy, They have been making them longer then anyone else. I was able to get the usage of my cans for up to 2 years..
I use to wash the carbon after ea year. This would do something to the carbon. I can only think that it made new holes and cracks exposeing new areas of the carbon to continue to remove VOC out of the air.
I tested a few got them all to work passed 2 years with washing. My final test was to use a acid wash but the price of carbon vs new filter units started to become more cost effective to just get new units every year.

Right on. But if you look into for next time, like others noted, must exhaust out of living areas. Only bulbs not disharge and check the amount of O3 produced per hour. This one w 3 lights for an 8" was $400.

Is that a skylight?
If that's @ me, no, that's the doorway to the flower room (basically a bunker). Shot at a weird angle. The O3 gen is horizontal above the doorway. A sky light would be really cool though.
In Japan they use skylight "tubes" to bring in sunlight to areas like this. You got me thinkin, I need a rip off the bong now LOL!
