SCROG??

Hi guy's...I was thinking about making my next grow a scrog grow.....I was just confused about a few things and was hoping some1 might be able to help.
Firstly, when you grow using this method do you veg until all the screen is filled and then start to flower?? or do you flower and use the strech growth to fill the screen?
Do you prune the plants or just let them grow and train them? and if so what is the best point on the plants to prune.
I think that's it for now but I'm sure I'll think of more problems
Thanks guys
James

I LST the plants during veg, then throw the screen over them, let them fill up about half the screen, then let the stretch fill up the rest... The only pruning I really do is cutting off the branches below the screen that won't make it up there...

There are so many nice tutorials on this site I wish someone would do one just for SCROG.. Like a step by step guide with pictures... I have read quite a bit on SCROG growing and am hoping to use this method on my first serious attempt at growing which will be happening soon.

I understand the basic concept of SCROG but does anybody have any links that goes in depth into it?

Part of the experience and reward is figuring things out on your own. If you understand the basics you shouldn't have any problems doing it yourself as this method is basic itself. Train the plant to fill the screen out, that way you get a nice leveled canopy.

I am thinking of doing a scrog with an AK47 as soon as I see the preflowers....I wish I knew more about propagation, so I could have myself a mother plant and use a few plants to fill a screen...

'Sup James,

Good questions, and you'll get different answers depending on who you ask. here's what I think:

When to flower? I've induced flowering just as the plants are hitting the screen. Others recommend nearly completely filling the screen, then starting to flower, which probably maximizes the yield.

Pruning - Because the growth is so dense, I prune sun leaves to expose the buds to the light. But others think pruning hurts them.

thanks for that guy's...still not to sure what to do.
I'd have a play around but cost is a factor and also space is abit of a problem therefor I don't want to go and full up the screen when in the veg stage and end up with huge plants.
