Scrog?

Hello everyone, hope your all having a good day today. I don't know where id post this question so I thought id come into the beginners forum to find the answer. Thing is, id like to try out scrog on my next run, but am really confused on when to train them under the net. I've been seeing some threads where people switch to 12/12 and get them under the net, but I've also heard of people just setting a certain height requirement and when the plant hits the net they train it under and continue to do so from then on. When is the best time to get that screen in?:plant grow:

It is easiest if you wait as long as possible to put the screen in place because it makes it much more difficult to work on the plant. If you LST as long as possible, you can get the same benefits until the plant gets too unruly and needs the screen. I like 8-12" between the top of the pot and the screen so that you can work under there.

Well ain't this what makes the world go round. I say the sooner you get the screen in place, the sooner it does your work for you rather than make you do it yourself as with LST. When the plant pokes through the screen, poke it back under. When it tries again a few holes over, poke it back under. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Screen height is arbitrary. It can be above the pot, pot level or below the pot. Whatever works for you. With indicas fill 1/2-2/3 the screen and flip to 12/12. With sativas, start at 12/12 and start scrogging as soon as it hits the screen.

Thank you guys, and freezerboy, I didn't know icmag had mentors :O. I very much appreciate the advise and hope to start a journal or something here in a month or so for a grow :)
