SCROG: What do you use for your SCROG Screens?

Title says it all, looking for a SCROG screen. What do you folks use? Do you re-use it, or trash it and get a new one? I was thinking maybe an old Electric Dishwasher dish rack could be bent or moulded into something useful.... maybe a sink side, dish drain? Old Pasta Strainers?

I picked up some plastic mesh at the Depot. Reasonably stiff with 1 inch squares it needs no weaving, pulling or tying of the plant. Until flowers show, anything pokes through, poke it back. On the rare occasssion the mesh is too tight, cut it larger with scissors.

Tried to PM ya Freezer. but I am not old enough yet :( Anyway, by the depot, did you mean a Home Depot type store? If so, can ya be more specific about what kind of screen or mesh this is and what department it is in? Then, it looks like you have it zip tyed to a PVC frame? Looks good to me, about what I am looking for.

I am currently using four pieces of a wire frame modular shelving unit form Ikea. That is zip tied and partially welded together. Here is is:

Right on all counts. I can't remember the Brand or Product name. It came in a roll. Not in the gardening section. I'd guess it would've been called Fencing, it was by Lumber in my store. Ask for Chicken Wire aka Poultry Netting. That should put you in the right area.

On the Dishwasher Rack scenario. I noticed in the DIY closet organizer area they had wire mesh drawers and shelfs of similar material.

I made these modular SCROGs out of an old wire frame basket I found in my office. It was about 2' x 3' I just used a hammer to flatten it and tin snips to trim it. When I was all done I affixed a 1' square about 8-10" above my soil and glued it to some some wood strips with two part epoxy putty....seems to work well enough and I can move the plants out one by one, or harvest the earliest girls first. This allows me the flexibility of harvesting just one plant at a time and keeping a few different lines in the same flower room. Also makes it easier to rotate them or remove dead leaves as they mature. As one is ready for harvest, I just replace it with a clone or a seedling.

nylon line 4x4", anything will work... just make sure the material does not hold water (like twine or cotton string) you could get mold issues.
