SCROG w/ 600 watt hps

ok i will be scroggin in a couple weeks so i figure i get sum feed back

got sum AK47 from serious to scrog. and a 600 watt hps, my first scrog attempt.

ideas for size and dimensions etc. been reading alot on everything especially scrog

should i scrog in soil and if so what is the largest pot i will need?

from what ive seen a 3'x3' scrog would be good for you and your 600w light... id also say about 5 gallon buckets a couple days to a week before you flower so theyre cumfy... there was a $3 scrog thread in this category, looked like it would work for you u

how many plants should i train or LST for a 3x3 scrog? i think mebbe i can go 4x4?

4X4 is a little big, but it might be better for your 600 watt scrog if you have the room, especially because with Scrogs its all about the surface area at the top. 5 gallon buckets are good unless you're growing true monsters.

well i am gonna try a 4x4 with 3 mebbe 4 plants to minimize veg time and 5 gallon buckets in soil, and see how that works, my height is limited to 7 feet tall, is that enough height?

That sounds about right, and it should be more than enough height, especially if you're training the plants to fit the screen.

ok when i train the plants i let them go over the screen then i bend them down under right? sorry for the dumb q, my first scrog.

dont use 5 gallon bucket go with rubbermaid 18+gallon ones fill it with your soil and go from their

simple man, have the screen about 14-16 inches off the soil, while your still in vegging, thats when you tie/train about 40% of the plant under the screen, then switch to 12/12 and tie/train until the screen is completly full...heres a great link to a member on another forum, who had 3 plants and got 14oz off all of it. good luck http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=52326

swerve- u think i would be better going with 18 gal bin? is that for 1 plant?

keeko-thanks for thread. well i think i will be scroggin with 4 plants so when i am training them do i let them go above the screen 4-6 inches then tuck them down?

simple man, if i were you i would train and tie down as soon as the plant hit the screen, if you waited 4-6 inches to train it might get a little to cramped in there to do a quality job on training them. also i think swerve means one 18 gal bin for all 4 plants

i would also suggest that you dont use 4 plants as this is your first scrog, i would probably use 2-3, and dont skimp on the veg time, if you top/fim, and veg a little longer i think you could get a bigger yeild with 3 topped plants rather than 4 short vegged plants......but whatever you decided to do good luck, this sounds like an interesting grow.

Been thinking about a one plant scrog under 400w. How much soil is that bucket?

im currently doing my 1st scrog and running ak47 at the same time. ive got 17 plants in 6 inch superpots filled w/ hydrotron on a 3 x 3 ebb and flow table.i vegged for 18 days and used floronova grow up until day 15 of veg. at day 15 i switched over to PBP grow and liquid karma(little hydroguard thrown in too)because i was 'gifted' 10 gallons of botanicare products. i flipped when my screen was about 60% full of 1-2 inch tops(screen sits 8 1/2 inches over top of table) because i only have 7' of headroom and i wanted some space to tie down taller branches if necessary. to further control stretch ive been crushing the stems (supercropping)of the taller branches.im currently on day 11 of flower still feeding PBP@ 900 ppm and they've stretched to around 6-8 inches over the screen...is this normal for ak? its a unverified club cut but looks like ak ive seen before from seed...should i expect it to reach 24" (3x) heres some pics
