Scrog help

Ok ive been reading things on this site for awhile without being a member, but now i have questions so it was time to sign up. In the past i guess you could say i grew sog style, though never very many plants and now im interested in doing my first scrog. I see awesome results for the people like me who are restricted to a small hidden grow space. I like the idea of only needing 2 or 3 flowering plants and 2 or 3 in veg and 1 momma plant all at once so ive always got flowering plants. I guess im just having a hard time wrapping my head around training the plant and what to do and when to do it. Ive read a few guides on here and they explain the concept and show pictures but how do i bend the plant to go in the screen and how will i know if ive done it right? Ive never done any kind of plant training. Any input is welcomed.

And i guess it may help to know my set up, veg area is 2x3x3 with a combo of daylight and cool white cfls totaling 104 true watts(each bulb is 26w), flower area is 3x4x3.5 with a 70w hps and 3 26w daylight cfls. And momma is under a few cfls. Computer fans and a/c piped into grow area. and thus far i have no exhaust or way to deal with the smell but im gonna have to figure something out before these 2 ladies flower. Anyways any scrog tips? please share

I did exactly what you said, a 70W HPS abs 3 26W CFL's perpetual with a separate veg area 4 20w cool tubes, computer fans. You can fit about 4-5 small plants moving one out every 2-3 weeks. Then I went to a 150W HPS, much better results and the heat could still be controlled with computer fans. Both the 150 and the 70 together with the cfl's worked best, and this ended up about 400W total with the flexibility that the cfl's are mobile and can be placed where needed. Heat becomes a problem.
Now I use a 3'x3' tent with a vented hood. I prefer this. I can fit 4 to 6 plants.

If your doing a perpetual grow with plants of different ages, you will need to keep them at the same height from the light. The newest arrival into your flowering lights might have to be set up on blocks to get it close enough to the light. I use coffee cans. The older plants will have to be controlled because they will grow too tall. Tie them down, a piece of yarn fron the top 2-3 inches tied down to the pot rim to bend the plant over 90 degrees. This will cause the side branches to grow and limits the plant height. In time the side branches will have to be tied down too since you can't raise the light, you've got short plants coming in to the room at one end while the mature ones go out the other. Raise the short ones up and tie the tall ones down. I wouldn't put a screen in place so that you can move the plants around in your perpetual grow.

Yeah mr bub, I canned the scrog plans in favor of lst training to turn the plants into a bush kinda deal. Basically the stem grows horizontally in a circle near the rim of the pot. Got some 10-6-8 fert today, gonna feed them lightly at first to see the reaction. Good to know someone had decent results with a 70watter. Ill post pics later. Peace. Thanks for replies. ok so now that ive caught up with the pics, heres what they look like today, at about 45 days old, the lsting definitely seems to slow growth down, i used to grow plants where the light had to be raised daily. i like this way better though so far, i hope to pull 10 to 14 grams off each plant, if i flower them and they are both female. and im also at a crossroads here with deciding whether to flower both these plants or make clones and flower those to determine sex, because at this point i dont have any more seeds and this is all ive got. or i was thinking if i flower both and one ends up male i could just let em breed and get seeds. one strain is kick ass and the other is just middies. would that be a bad idea?

ok so today i took 2 cuttings off each plant and made a lil cloning tray, ill post pics later, i have a question for an admin, how can i change the title of this tread? or can i not do that? should i move my little grow log somewhere else? thanks
