Dude forget about taking your pot on a plane! Unless its a tiny amount in your toilet bag or something its just not worth the risk imo.
Much better if you forget about scoring any good ganja in Scotland. Take a trip to Holland and buy couple oz sweet hashish then go on the ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle..then its bout an hour on the bus to Edinburgh.

Enjoy Scotland the Brave.Be wise my friend don`t Traffic anything. Hashish can be found in almost any Local hotel if you know where to look around. Taking your chances at the pub is fine, the Airport No way.
Toilet Bag? that would be One of The Places they are sure to checkout if you seem in the least bit nervous or unusual. How many Airport Customs etc show you gotta watch to see the drug smuglarz dissolve products into aftershave bottles shampoo bottles etc and bring it in everyday of the year.

If you really want to take hash with you on the plane, keep it in your pocket. I know this sounds dumb but with x-rays and finger searches (by professionals, remember) anything in your big will likely be found if you are searched. Wash bags are the first place they will look. UK airports often use dogs to sniff out drugs in hold luggage - you wont see the dogs but you will be pulled when you come through customs.
If you keep your hash (dont even bother with weed) in your pocket you have a chance of being able to discreetly chuck it or pop it in your mouth (and swallow if need be) if you think you will be searched.
Do not carry more than 6.5grams to the UK - more than a quarter of an oz and they take things more seriously than is comfortable. With an eighth they will just give you a hard time, hold you for a while and tell you to f*ck off.
The old rule of thumb for smuggling any more than a small few grams is simple: stuff it (up your backside) or swallow it (and crap it out) or dont bother. If you think this is gross or too much hassle, then do not bother smuggling. Nuff said.

i'll probbaly just go and try to find myself something to smoke in preswick or glasgow cause i dont feel like spending my holliday on a police station for drug smuggling
The quality of green in scotland is not the best. Glagow you will get the best quality though. Most of the stuff in Edinburgh is very damp and tastes horrible. You will be dissapointed if your used to smoking pukka stuff. If your in Glasgow you could get lucky and score a nice dank bit of weed but very unlikely unless you know the right people. Do you have friends or family in Scotland? If so are they tokers? If they are you wont hav a problem getting stuff but as i said, may not be the best of stuff.
Edit: Scotland is a beautiful place. I highly recomend visiting Edinburgh if your from the States especially during Edinburgh Festival. Hope you enjoy the trip man.
