swampdank, hell yeah the gulf coast has nice sunburtst on the top and them turn purple those get so big and in large numbers. I found a whole field in Bastrop a few months ago. I was hesitant to eat them because they were already on the decline and could not really make a definite identification but would like to go back one day.

I'd love to know how to identify specific species of mushrooms in a single region of the rocky mountains. If anyone has harvested wild edible mushrooms before and could give me pointers I'd appreciate it.

There's a lot of people who harvest em here and sell to the local supermarkets. I go hiking a lot. I think it's a win-win :woohoo: lol

learning to grow the fun kind sounds good as well...

EDIT@ oldschoolfarmer...

Fixed that for yah. Don't know why you'd vehemently back mycology like that, but people have been eating wild mushrooms for years without a fancy title.

I had penis envy uncut and the friggers didnt germinate.....I was a newb at the time anyways. And of course still am.

Oh..ya I know what you mean, but maybe trusted local species or morel. I just would not. Its a personal choice that was recommended to me in the shroomuuurrrayy forums by people who could write a book about this stuff.

sorry about your name too, I realized it, but I just wanted to get my message to you and said good nuff...lol lazy stoner.
