Sativa's Indoors with Hydro?

Anyone have experience with pure sativa's inside in hydro? Normally run 5 gallon soquick buckets with pure hydroton and pbp nutes.

I am concerned with root bound plants with such a long bloom period. Any thoughts or experiences appreciated thanks!

No idea about the pots or nutrient, but as long as you are prepared to train them a bit you should have no problems.
I'm not massively experienced with them, but I have a nice K1 flowering now (11/13) and a couple of nice Zambian to go in next. I had a 120 + day from Ace in an 11 litre pot and she was fine (best weed I've ever had too :))
What's the worst that can happen? :)

Hey LostTribe, there is an older thread with malawi grown in an 8 site Under Current. Can't remember all of the details, but you may want to search for it. I have to run or I'd post up the link now. :)

Pure sativa's are a joy on hydro IMHO ! No problems with big rootz as long as you can keep the rootzone airated ! Im used to grow in waterfarm-like systems with FloraNova Bloom [Lucas Formula] and yes , i like it and just everybody else does ! Here are some pix of one my purer haze lines :

just try any sativa from Dubi/Ace on Hydro , just go low on the nutes until you have a nice formed rootzone and then just look on yer plants , they will tell you everything you need to know !

have a nice one

PS: aye , keep your ph @ solid 5.8 for flowering , a little lower for veg 5.6-5.8 was my sweet spot :tiphat:

The most important thing, in my opinion, thoroughly and carefully monitor the level of phosphorus.
pH changes will dictate appetite for phosphorus only if you pre-calculate a NPK of the elements and the balance of anions and cations.
In general, I recommend not to exceed 100 ppm phosphorus, if plant does not ask explicitly more.
Much more important than P - level of nitrogen and potassium,
With nitrogen ,for healthy shine and a good translocation of other elements, i recommend 70-100ppm of Ca .
Ideally, all cycle can be carried at P level 70-90ppm.
Indica and hybrids does not accept this,.

about the roots, we have in the local market Trichoderma domestically produced . $ 3 per 100 tablets. This is a qualitative analogue of piranha@AN,Great shark (and others), and it really fulfills its $ 3, just necessary provide sugar for colony of bacteria (carboload, bud candy etc) and constant temperature of soluton.
Also, colony will happily eat any organic fertilizer, in addition to the main base fertilizer
