Sativa Tree ?

Now, this probably isn't possible but I had to ask anyway, dumb as the question may be.

Would it be possible to start a large sativa indoors in a very deep shallow container, several feet deep, then transplant in spring outdoors a.s.a.p. and grow it large enough, or get the roots deep enough to survive winters with lows in the 20's and 30's?

Was thinking maybe if the stalk was big enough, and roots deep enough it could re-veg every year.

Think it's possible?

I haven't done any outdoor grows myself, but i know for a fact that the plant won't survive in that cold of weather. Even when my grow room goes below low 50's, my plants begin to slow down growth alot. You could try though i guess...

What kind of MJ plants would survive winter temps? That would be pretty cool if it could be done.

well I suppose it depends on the winter temps too. if its deep enough and the stem didn't die it may reveg.

I just remember cutting some bagseeds that were outdoor around mid stem. still had a bunch of branches and shit under it but nothing really smokable. next march or so passing through there they were still alive, starting to veg again. and I've heard of other people having this too.

but our winter temps are pretty low, growing season pretty long, and using mostly sativas.

perhaps indicas up north don't I don't know. but its common for some sativas in the south to make it through the season.

Regardless if it was an indica or a sativa i doubt it could take the winter. What temps did you have that didn't kill the plant? It must of been fairly warm in the winter then. One grow i had, the temp hit about 43 at night during the winter and my plants came very close to dying, and i have only grown strains that were more than 75% indica up until this grow i just started.

Flowering a plant does not kill it.
You can pick the buds and reveg a bit of growth you leave.

all plants have there time my friend...

ive heard of some sativas in country of origin living for years perpetual harvest but even those die sometime..

i think if we were to have a mild enough winter my plants would die anyway because the sun told them its there time depending on there genetics

.......none of my c99 reveged and we havent had snow this year south of lake michigan

Wernard's double fun has been bred especially for their winter-hardyness.

I remember planting swag seeds outside when I was young and the same plant would always reveg itself for about 3 years.. then someone stole it or something.. but thats my only experience with reveging outdoors.
