Sativa for a beginner

troutman

Seed Whore
I think for your 1st time you should choose a Sativa dominant hybrid vs a pure Sativa.
It will finish faster, most likely yield more and be much easier to grow to the end. Go
for something that flowers for 10 to 12 weeks. I've grown many long flowering plants
and know the 1st time you try something over 14 weeks things can get stressing. lol

Sativa's from Mexico are the easiest to grow in my books. If you get decent Mexican commercial weed where you are living, Buy some and grow some of the seeds and you may be surprised. Back in the 70s where I'm at, everyone grew Mexican. I still love to grow them but I haven't in about 10 years because of all the other easy to get seeds on the market. Mexican Sativa's are the easiest and give the best yields. 😎

if you´re after shorter flowering periods then I suggest looking into autos. The only trouble is that the yield is very low compared to regular plants

Those times have changed a bit! I have seen autos of hundreds of grams on the forums!
Not sure auto the sativa part, tho...

seriously? 100 grams worth per plant ? I´ve only been dissapointed in terms of yiels so far. Do you happen to remember which auto strains these were?

Sure, check the work of Urban_Legends. Solid autos, I grew some but my grow style is more plants in a even canopy. I have never grew them 100 gr, but while looking around I seen some beautifully done into the 300gr+. I think my good friend JustGrowing420
has some in his thread, I am too high for searching now but you can either go and check or dunno wait a bit maybe they see the quotes here and help me with the linking. Anyway, those times an auto was expected to top under 100 gr of harvest and be of crap quality.. are gone! Hope I got you enaugh to get searching. I am high as fk!!

Justgrowing420 made 205 on Mazarilla indoor. Actually OGKUSH auto is 1 +1 at Real Gorilla Seeds :

thanks it´s on my list now :)

I think my main problem was probably the light or lack of.

For an easy "sativa" hybrid that grows itself and is a VERY up effect look into C99. 8 weeks and very easy to grow with good yields of frosty tasty buds.

I´ve heard so much about c99 over the years. Even way back people were just nuts about this strain :) never had the pleasure though. This strain has been o my must-try-someday list forever

If you follow that guide, 100g is a minimum :D

In reality it was Fighting Gorillaz auto, Mazarilla may yield even more than that!

Also Ace as already mentioned is a very good place to start if not too keen on autos.
Kind effects and something like Panama, Bangi Haze or Orient Express would be perfect choices for that.

i totally agree with the 8 weeks - but only getting about 3 oz in a 2 gallon container with organic soil. but, my goodness, what a nice high.

my problem is the plants are going to seed about a 2 weeks before harvest. no males or pollen anywhere around the cab. is this a known thing? from past experience these types of seeds are feminized ... is this how feminized seeds are created?

saving all the C99 beans in case i need to trade with jack for his cow ... in the coming dystopia.

11 plants, so far, from one seed in a dispensary 1/8th - last august.

hy.

Depends on your Growenviroment.. if you grow outside and have Climatle like California, or hotter even (in Autumn and Winter), i think you can grow many many things without tooo much problems, you can start early , and thats the Trick. your plants will grow into huge Trees then, the only thing you would need to know is knowing a bit how to mix a good Soil, good nutrients, not to much Nutirients for Sativa. Not let them get too dry. And choose most of the Sativas..

If youre indoors, you probably want to concentrate on a certain "shortness" in flowringtime and streching-department..

I’ll see if I can find C99 somewhere in the
PNW.
Be careful with brothers Grimm C99xx. Mine hermed all to fuck . Would not recommend from Them. Budtoaster if you have brothers Grimm I’ve read others have had herm issues as well. Lester beans has a different banks c99 that I don’t think hermed on him.
