Sativa/Ca./Mg. Problems - Help wanted plz

Hey all, so this is hopefully going to be my first finished plant (knock on wood!!please!!) And I have run into some what I think may be nute problems! This is an unknown Sativa/lil indica from bagseed. Unknown if even the bag was chronic. First thing yall need to know about this grow is that she aint mine from the beginning! I was gifted this strange, out of sync plant from a friend who could no longer hold on to her because she was growing too tall. Getting the plant, she was relatively healthy so immediately I put her (pistils showing already) under 12/12. Her entire vegetative growth was without fertilization besides probably some miracle grow potting soil and tap water. She also received terrible lighting, starting on 4/20/07 and vegged till 9/20/07 a 5 month sativa should be MONSTROUS, lol. She is small(compared to what she could be), but beautiful! The growth at just less than 3 weeks is great, trichs and everything showing up, just generic plant smell though. Here are my nutes:

Nutrients- 100% Organic

BioCanna - Terra (Soil)
BioCanna - Vega (Vegging) (3.5 - 1.0 - 5.5) 8ml/g 1L = $28
BioCanna - Flores (Flowering) (2.5 - 2.0 - 5.0) 15ml/g 1L = $28
BioCanna - Boost (Flowering Additive) (.02 - .12 - .08) 8ml/g 1L = $90
Expensive stuff to say the least! Supposed to improve the plants
potency, yield, flavors, and make it "everything it can possibly be".
These 3 BioCanna products should yield some amazing results, I
have yet to see any other soil grower use these 3 so I guess we''ll
find out if its good or not. Bio Boost used in flowering
"Brer Rabbit Mollasses" 1tsp-tbsp/Gal
Sunleave's Indonesian Bat Guano (0.5 - 12 - 0.2),
given 3tablespoons of guano 2 X (every 4 weeks),
when flowering.
Harvest Moon Organics: Calcium(4%) & Magnesium(.5%) 1tsp/g
Added for suspected Ca. deficiency with a maybe some
Mg. deficiency.

Flowering Chamber Setup/Lighting:

Flowering: (3'10" x 1'9" x 6')

400W HPS with SunSystem Reflector with Shield
2 Axial fans with intake/outtake placements
2 Fans for Air Circ.
Area =6.7083sqFt
Light = 400Watt
400 / 6.7083 = 59.63Watt/Foot!

9/21/ 07 First day of Flowering

10/04/07 (2 weeks of Flowering and Nutes)

The damages: (mainly mid to lower region, to is beautiful as well as most new growth)
(All pics of def.’s are from 10/7/09, 4 days from 3 weeks of flowering)

Gorgeous top!

Changes that are taking effect as of writing this…

Too many nutes/too few nutes? That is the question. Tomorrow is watering day, and we’ve decided to semi-flush the girl to figure out if we have perhaps over fertilized which I disagree. I believe whats wrong is…

Combo of Ca. def, maybe bit of N, bugs, and a little bit of heat stress, light was 8” from the plant, and about 72-75F in the room and direct light at 80, I feel she may have taken a bit of a beating. I’ll flush it for one day, then back on full strength nutes + my new Bio Boost and +Ca/Mg to hopefully give her everything she needs.

The LST’ing we have been doing on this girl has made a phenomenal improvement upon the number as well as density of bud sites.

Hope you masters out there can help!

i would say pic 1,2, and 3 look like nute burn to me. ur ppms?
I dont know about the white spots...whats ur humidity at? maybe powdery mildew..
but it also looks like it is P deficent...whats ur ph at?
so if it looks like a burn or a possible PH lockout i would completely flush, then give it a light 1/4 stregth feeding of ur bloom nutes and measure the PH before you give it to her...
Can you measure the PH of the soil?
Ok so what info would be helpful: PH, Humidity, and ppms of the solution you feed her with...but im leaning more towards was burned and now ur nute lockout from ph being off...

You got mites man! that is not your only problem; how often are you feeding your plants and are you using all those listed?????

You will first have to get mites under control man they will kill your plant if you let them get a few ahead of you; Get some pest strips and some neem oil.

The strips place it near the plant and get your plant covered in neem to help slow them down cause them mites are like god's plague!

Now as for the other part; I can't tell because you have your HPS light on; can you take some more pictures?
I’ll flush it for one day, then back on full strength nutes + my new Bio Boost and +Ca/Mg to hopefully give her everything she needs.

You can't do that man; you flush you have to back off the nutes untill she recovers; you most likely are over feeding and which is causing the lockout. You can have a deficiency but the cause is over feeding'; to much of one kind of nutrient can lock out others.

What nutrients are you using and how much cause man if you are using all those....... you are in for a real treat; a burned up free of charge cannabis :)

Ahh Mites! Your right! I looked today real closely underneath one of the leaves which has lots of those white spots, and there were a bunch (10) tiny either clear/yellow tiny spiders/ creatures! Heading to the hydro store to get some Neem Oil tomorrow + some strips today.

I am not using all of those nutrients. For a flowering plant that would have no problems I would use...
BioCanna - Flores (Flowering) (2.5 - 2.0 - 5.0) 15ml/g 1L = $28 -- Use regular 15ml/g every time it needs watering, ie: 2-3 days, or I use the finger in the soil method to see when it needs watering.

BioCanna - Boost (Flowering Additive) (.02 - .12 - .08) 8ml/g 1L = $90 -- This additive I just go, and u are supposed to use 8ml/g for first 2 weeks of flowering (every time u water) and then only 4ml/g (every water) till you flush before chop.

And, from what I have heard on these Nutes, and this is from online forums and the local HydroStore owner, these nutes which are 100% organic and have had tons of R&D, you dont need to measure ph when just using the BioCanna line. They have all been formulated to work together with the BioCanna Soil so that you do not use perlite, or have ph issues. The store owner (was talking to him yesterday) said that he was so surprised I was havign trouble with the BioCanna line, cause they never apparently get deficiencies, maybe it started in vegging?

Try and get you some pics with the HPS off...sorta cloudy out though so hope kitchen lights work!

Thanks for all your help though, after removing her from being so close to the light, some leaves are already darker.

What do you guys think I should water it with next? I still want to try and see if that +Ca.+Mg. organic works.

Was able to snap some shots when I was watering today. Just used a gallon of water, out city tap water ph is excellent and without any gunk.

72F
36%RHumidity

Hope that helps some! Lets get this girl healthy!

Dood you can get away using like 2 tsp per gallon weekly but not every watering. I would never listen to directions on the back because it just screws shit up; eery strain is different and requires different care.

I would first start feeding weekly give her a flush and then start feeding again slowly cause now she has to fight mites too man; she also had some bleeching from the light being to close.

Update

Update

Hey all,

Update!!
For all of you who don't know this is my first flowering plant :).

And especially a huge hello to Stitch, my plants love you man! Well if you people weren’t so enamored with the first shots, "Peter" is now 1 month into flowering, and I think you will like the new photos! Stitch, everything you said to do worked perfectly! No longer any mites, no longer any Cal/Mag def, and look how HEALTHY she looks. By the way, she is putting on one of the most divine intriguing fruit/passion smell I have never smelled in a pot before. It’s becoming more and more apparent, but when you rub a few trichs it just explodes in ripe fruity smell!

Day 30 of flowering.

And I think this is what they call frosting up? lol!

But, now on to serious matters! I do have a question on her now, remember, she was a very strange plant when I got her. Her vegging was done in poor lighting/nutes/everything conditions, and when I got it was still vegging (showed sex though), possible the plant new it was getting to be 12/12, but was maybe just barely into flowering. (Plant was just a bag seed houseplant given to me). Ever since I have put it in 12/12 it has been under optimum conditions or close as I could get.

So, some of the lower bud sites and a lot of the cola’s have large calyx’s that are getting more crystals by the day. There are no males in the grow room, have never had one in there, and no chance of a pollination other than she is turning hermie on me?
Are these seeds? I’ve seen pot with large calyx’s before, I’m just double checking. They look like where seeds would be if it was pollinated, but I really hope it isn’t hermy or something.

(Please click to enlarge these ones)

Hope ya like the new update! I’m working on a few threads Stitch, got to have you see some problems with my seeds.

Congrats man! I am very glad your plants are happy now :D

Well, it looks like you may already have some seeds growing unless it's something else. check the 4th pic you see 2 brown little round things.... and some nanners.

I would get a plasic bag and put it over a small area and crack open that pod..... put the bag over the ball parts.....that way if it does have pollen you will minimize the spread.

The rest of the pics look like little balls so it look liked it hermied on you :(

Anyone else see the same thing? Just want to make sure I am right; I know what a hermie plant looks like but I want someone to concur if they see the same thing.

Oh no!

Oh no!

Oh lame!

What do I do with a hermie plant? Can you still smoke it? Is it just a female that has seeds now, or will it polinate my garden! I took some more pics to try to show you the seeds, this is soooo lame.

What do I do? Cut the branches with seeds off and leave the others on? ...? @#$@ This plant was going so nicely.

All the bud sites.

Top Cola

Seeds...???

Plucked one of these buggers from the plant lower cola. Definitly seems to be a seed.

...

So sad.

Do I rip this girl/male down?

Sure you can still smoke it; you will just have to pick through your bud and get the seeds out first :)

Looks like you got some late nanners on there too; they form later than the rest of the pods and normally do not open up but have pollen in them.

If you do not want your other flowering plants to get pollinated then yes chop her down; when you do chop her down be extremly carefull removing her from the room; pollen will get in air if any of them bursted open.

What you pulled off at the last picture looks like a male pollen sack possibly if not then.....
take it out of the grow room and open it up; cause there will be a seed in there if it's not a pollen sack.

you will see when a seed forms because it turns light brown and darker later on.
