Hey guys! That setup above is mine thanks to some help


Here are the specs of my first grow:

Where: Walk in closet
Size: Flowering = 3'x4' at most(I'm only using about 3'x3' at the moment, so about 9 square feet).
Lights: 500w Blackstar 3w LED + 240w Blackstar 3w LED
Plants:
2 Cindy Walker's
1 Pearl Harbor
1 Purple People Eater


I've got my lights set up on a custom "chain" lift so I can lower/raise my lights depending on the height of my plants(pics to come). I've got the 240w about 10" from the PPE, and the 500w about 12.5" from the cindy/pearl plants.


So far, they are really thriving in my closet. I have been astounded at how quickly these things can grow, so I'm expected some serious yields off of my first grow which is AWESOME.


At first I had just the 500w set up and I was getting the following light power:

500w is producing 2000umol to 14 inches from the light, 1500 to the tops of the cages at 24 inches...and about 600 on the floor(4-5' away).

After adding the 240w to the mix, and dropping both lights down, I am at over 2000uMol on the canopy, and about 1500uMol by the soil

Thanks for commenting man! I've been into forums for a long time, but just got into forums for marijuana. Really excited to see what this first grow can give me, and then improving from there!

No worries at all! I was stoked to get on here and see pictures of my closet, lol.


Adding in the 240w made a big difference I think. The color of the light changed slightly which surprised me. The 500w on its own is basically bright pink/purple, but when we added in the 240w, it made the light much more clear/white...odd.


I am red/green colorblind, so I see the plants almost in "normal" green, while everyone else who looks at them sees the plants as hunter green or even black.

Being colorblind makes seeing/viewing everything under the light much easier for me than others it seems...so for the first time in my life my color blindness has helped!

Hopefully you'll occasionally put up a pic or 2 of your girls illuminated by more normal incandescent or CFL lighting vs the pink glow. I forget how many posts you gotta have to upload pics but I'm sure it won't be too long

I think it's only 50 posts, so I'll see if I can get a bunch in this week so I can take some normally lit pictures this weekend.

There should be some big changes in them by saturday if things continue as they are.

Hey josey ...I got the chem d cut from a source I trust completely...his story was he got the cut directly from chemdog...back east....ironically ...ha..and I have zero reason to doubt him.....that is the cut I spread here in dago...hope that helps

im sure it isent the one you have now, its the cut GS had about 2or or 3 years ago.

--ya josey that makes sense...that was the cut we refer to as the fake chem d ...ha...it wasn't a bad cut..smoketrees knew it was a chem..just not which one
---so I got to sample the dubtech today..very very nice..badass actually..very high quality high..the line where sheer strength doesn't get ya on the top shelf but the.....feel of the high sure does...it was older sample so I don't know exactly how it smells or tastes but sure does seem like the technology came thru..more than the dub...and I love that ether taste..the one that led me to say I liked ether more than chem d after 1I bonghit!...gt and humble- nice fukn job..it damn sure ain't just pretty pictures! Now I can't wait to taste the other pheno floating around
